Visiting the Waterkant in Suriname is being on a riverside Boulevard with people of the country. Besides the historical buildings on one side you can walk relaxed on the boulevard between people who sell their hand-made materials and food. Very touristic.

Waterkant was just stunningly beautiful. The Dutch colonial architecture mixed up with the traditional and local use of materials and construction is one of a kind and very telling. Thoroughly enjoyed walking down the street every now and then when in the city.

Easy walking streets with many beautifully restored homes and green parks. Some building still need care but does not distract from the history of the area.

Astonishing to come across virtually an entire city made from wood that still constitutes the country's capital. Also a designated UNESCO world heritage site. One can only marvel at the fact that the place is still standing and in such superb condition.

This route provides a glimpse into a main street that remains much as it did over a hundred years ago.

You really understand why Paramaribo is on the UNESCO Heritage Site walking along this street and the ones running parallel to it. There are some ladies selling natural soaps, syrups, medicines and oils (very pricey) and some snack outlets overlooking the river where you can...More

This is a river side board walk with eateries and benches at the river side. Nice to take a stroll. There is a small pier.
