This zoo is about 10-15 minutes drive from downtown Paramaribo, taxi fare is about $20 SRD, I was told that no buses go up to the zoo, the walk could be about 1/2 hour from Mac Donald's, the entrance fee is $25 SRD per adult,...More

Went to the zoo, as wanted to see the giant anteater. I'm sure they do there best, with limited funding, but it was hard not to leave a little depressed. Some of the animals and there enclosures were miserable. Hopefully there are plans for improvement.

There are talks about animals being taken away and eaten? I don't believe that at all. Parbo is a nice pleasant city and the zoo seem to be well maintained. There are more animals here than Guyana Zoo and they are in good conditions. Loved...More

The Paramaribo Zoo has been there for a long time and things have improved. The animal stays and the variety of animals has grown. It is a educational experience especially for children.

This is less a zoo than a playground. There's not too many animals left as they seem to die of old age and they can't get replacements. But the playground is nice enough for children and it's a lively place.

The zoo is almost empty... It's a frequently visited attraction for the hungry in Suriname. Only the panthers and cayman were still there

I Always have mixed feel about going to the zoo. I live animals and love to watch them too. But like in most zoos the animals here are locked up in small cages. Especially the big cats become neurotic. But still it is a nice...More

With a day to spare I visited but it was hardly worth the time. Only visit if you have spare time which I had with a cancelled tour. Not many animals but there is a beautiful jaguar in a way too small cage. A couple...More

Not an inspiring place. There is a selection of animals but with the exception of the monkeys that had some space on an island they seemed to be very constrained in small enclosures. There are plenty of places in Suriname to see monkeys in the...More
