The observatory is small, but we still saw lots of hummingbirds and even a couple of other species. Our guide was very informative. I’d recommend this as a good way to experience some of Colombia’s amazing biodiversity close to Bogotá.
Unfortunately the transportation was not so comfortable on the bumpy road, fitting 3 adults in the single back seat of a mid-size SUV.

Hello and thank you for your review. We are happy that you enjoyed the Hummingbird Observatory visit. It is indeed a small place full of charecter and birds! The vehicle we use is a 4x4 Mitsubishi Outlander that fits seven people and has 3 rows of seats. On your tour, the driver and the guide were seated in the front of the vehicle and 3 clients in the middle seat, so 5 people in total. The back row with two empty chairs was completely open and available for anyone to use and neither the driver nor the guide remember anyone asking for more space or expressing discomfort during the bumpy road (precisely the reason why we use AWD vehicles). We advise future clients to speak up about any discomfort during the tour because we want our visitors to have the best possible experience and there is unfortunately nothing we can do after the fact if we are not informed of the situation while is happening. We do offer private tours as well for clients that require extra space and do not wish to share the transport but it does come at an extra cost. On this occasion we felt like a 7 passenger SUV for 5 people should have allowed for enough space for everyone to comfortably experience the 1.5 hour mountain ride. We appreciate you sharing your concerns with us and hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Colombia.

This guide was fantastic. He brought his 5 year old daughter with us. They told us all about the natural area and their lives. The scenery was gorgeous.
Only problem was the driver (who gathers the clients to bring them to the tour guide) didn't wait for me to get in the van. The meeting time was 8am and he drove off at 7:50am. I had a sim card but couldn't get a hold of anyone through WhatsApp. I had to recruit a friend in the US to call the phone number from a normal line (not WhatsApp.) Then I had to Uber to catch up with the group (an extra cost out of my pocket.) Because of the driver and the weak response from the company owner, I wouldn't likely go anywhere with this company again. But the tour guide of this tour was so awesome that it should still be considered.

Hello, we respectfully disagree with this review. Rachel booked a tour on February 4th, 2023 (12 months prior to this review) for a cloud forest hike in Choachi which was not La Chorrera but a different location. She showed up late to our meeting point and had someone call us from a California number at 8.20am when the departure time was set for 8.00am. She then contacted us on WhatsApp for the first time around 8.30am. We luckily had another transport available nearby and we offered to pick her up in 20 minutes and take her to meet up with the group. She declined and took an Uber to the edge of the city where the tour Van was waiting for her. She reunited with the group by 9.00am and completed the hike without further issues. She then wrote to request a full refund even though she completed the tour hike, she was late to meet us and she delayed everyone else while they waited for her. It is our policy to not provide refunds when tours are completed by our clients, however we did offer to refund the cost of the Uber as courtesy but she declined. We believe our company response was accurate and timely considering that Rachel showed up late to meet us without any notice or warning and that we only heard about it when we got a call from the California number. We would also like to note that Rachel never made a reservation to La Chorrera neither visited that place with us! She booked two tours with us to different locations and we completed both without major issues. We regret that Rachel was late to meet us and that the tour was delayed as a result, but we are also glad that the activity was completed and everyone had a good time on the hike with our guides.

Just 2 of us on the tour. Friendly driver, beautiful scenery. The guy who walked us up the trail didn't talk much, if at all. That would've been the difference for 4 or 5 stars. The 2 of us on the tour spoke Spanish so there was really no reason for him not to talk to us.

Such a great hike, beautiful views and very knowledgeable guides. David was our main guide, and we were met by Hernan as well, who had tons of local facts and stories to add. It was actually not as strenuous as I imagined. Next time I’d try the more difficult route.

Beautiful park and they allow only a small number of visitors per day. That meant on our two hikes in the park, we didn't meet anyone else. Our guide was very knowledgeable and knew what to point out.

If you visit Bogota please consider taking this tour! It’s fairly small, so it’s very personal. The guide Lola is very friendly, the horse handler is skilled, and the horses behaved very well. I have no experience with horses and it was no issue! The view in the mountains was beautiful. It’s a very relaxed tour, a nice way to experience some nature and mountains around Bogota. The snack and drink at the end are delicious! It’s only about 4 hours total so you can easily plan time for shopping or exploration around the city on the same day. 100% recommend anyone to do this tour!

Beautiful location. Learned the process from start to finish. Picked the beans, peeled them, roasted them, “skinned” them, ground them up, made the coffee, and drank it. Then a nice lunch…everything organic and home grown. A delightful experience, and a sweet family, embracing you like one of their own. Can’t say enough good things about this tour.

Great experience with beautiful views. Horses are well loved, gentle, and steady but spritely. Enjoyed the relaxed family atmosphere.

A nice experience of horse riding.
It was a bit rainy when we were there but we still made it.
I liked the landscape. The horses were very cute, we even did a little galloping.
