I first discovered Maven Spa at Al Wahda Mall when I was walking around the mall a couple of weeks ago. Someone was handing out spa brochures with 100AED off coupons attached to them. I took one. After looking over their offerings, I booked an appointment for a "Head, Back, and Shoulder" massage.
When I arrived, I found the ambiance of the spa to be lovely and luxurious. The aromas were exotic. (My only suggestion would be for the staff to offer hot tea or fresh, cold water with fruit essence.) After filling out a form, I was given a pair of slippers and led to my treatment room.
The next hour was HEAVEN! My masseuse kneaded every ache and knot from my back, neck, and shoulders. I was treated to a scalp and face massage. The gal working on me made sure I was comfortable throughout and that the pressure was correct. The massage oil used on my back and neck seemed heated-- or perhaps it was angry generated from the vigorous strokes.
Let's just say, I have found my new "Happy Place!" I have lived in Abu Dhabi for nearly 3 years and this is one of the best massages I have ever have-- hotel spas included. I will definitely be back!
Pros: Maven Spa has a wonderful ambiance, especially considering it was housed in a busy mall! The staff are friendly and professional. My masseuse was highly trained and did an excellent job. The prices are reasonable-- and their rewards card program is a major bonus!
If you want a spa with amenities such as a locker room, a jacuzzi pool, sauna, etc., no, this may not be for you. I wouldn't say Maven Spa is "no frills"-- trust me, I have seen some spas in the city that are definitely no frills!-- but, it is what it is. (On the plus side, there are lovely stand up showers in each treatment room for clients to use.)
Suggestions: I hope the spa will offer chilled water, water with fruit slices, and/or hot tea in the future. Also, the music was generally appropriate for a spa, but I wasn't too sure about some of the tribal songs on the CD-- I prefer spa music with a more quiet, soothing tempo.

As a fan of slow, intense strokes for total relaxation, I tried the Balinese massage. With Lavender oil and Mira as my therapist, live couldn't be better! Only downside: Restroom 1 Min. away inside the mall. I'll make an appointment for next week.

The therapists are good but the place is not very suitable for relaxation as the walls are very thin so you could hear things going on outside.
The touch of choosing your preferred oil is cute but a couple of times happened to me that when I went for the treatment they did not use the oil I chose for.
The marketing move of calling people and saying "we have special offer discount for today" when it is 17:00 in the afternoon is not very smart. And then when I said there's no use for me today because this is end of the day and I cannot go there when went on saying "no I think this offer is until end of month". funny.

I stayed Today at Maven’s spa where I treated myself with 1 hour of maven signature massage.
The service was impeccable from when I arrived until I left. All just perfect, and a very nice, relaxing atmosphere there.
The massage was just amazing and Ria the massager is so professional and has such a great hands with a good touch. I totally relaxed and loved it.
I will be definitely back again.
Absolutely recommend.

My full body massage was incredible. Probably the most enjoyable massage I have ever had. My therapist was Ni Luh & she was professional and skilled. The staff are all Balinese and the atmosphere is tranquil and pampering. I chose the monthly special massage for UED260 and, although it was a splurge for me, it was worth every penny. I would definitely go back for more! The ginger honey tea afterwards was a lovely treat (delicious!). Definitely go to Maven if you are in the area.

Maven Spa is my go-to when I want to treat myself. Step through the doors and leave the hustle and bustle of the mall behind you. Suddenly you are enclosed in a cocoon of comfort, soft music and luxury. The professionalism of the staff is second to none. I have never been disappointed. I love this place!
