Fourseasons gym drops x

The Facilties remain immaculate. However when you try and find a place to sit in the men’s locker - best be prepared to have a seat on the floor.

Sadly it’s getting way too overcrowded in the gym and the price doesn’t justify the once premium go to gym.

Over priced for average experience. Plus they don’t pay attention to clients requests, as I specifically requested an anniversary celebration experience and they assured that they can do something special. And so I booked the private spa suit, and had high expectations accordingly to the price I’m paying, unfortunately, nothing met my expectations!

The jacuzzi looked dirty and i could clearly see black things floating on the surface!! Not a single rose or a piece of cake, the therapists are okay but they kept on dropping things down causing loud noises.

i went to franck provost thinking they would be a reliable salon as i've previously heard fantastic things about them. i researched a lot in regards to extensions in doha and as i had extensions in needed someone to remove them and colour my roots. i discussed my requirements on the phone and in person before deciding to go ahead and let them remove my extensions. As they themselves put extensions in i was sure they would be competent. They began by roughly pulling them out, using no conditioner or solution of any type, they were extremely rough and rushed the process. After they were out instead of gently coming with conditioner or anti tangle solution they aggressively ripped apart my hair from near the roots. i kept on complaining about the pain but they kept saying it was nearly over so i thought i'd just let them get on with it. After almost 2 hours of removal they brushed it through and began to colour it. I've had my hair dyed blonde for over 5 years and after letting my hair grow for nearing 5 months without colouring my hair was in good strong condition. They applied the colour in a slap dash fashion and left me. my scalp began to burn but they said that would subside so once again i was quiet. as i watched the colour begin to foam slightly (something i have never witnessed before whilst having my hair dyed) i began to panic. i touched my hair and what proceeded was an absolute nightmare. my hair began falling out in clumps. every time i touched it my hair fell out on the floor from almost the root. i called to the woman and told them to wash off the colour immediately. as they washed it out more and more hair came out in the sink. a second male hair dresser came over and looked panicked and said "luckily she knows what she's doing or you could have lost all your hair". i sat in disbelief in hearing these words, she had not checked my hair once and i told her to wash the colour out! i came back to the mirror, i had lost a good 60% of my hair that i had been trying to look after so well over the previous months. as the colour had been washed early i was also left with 4 inches of orange ORANGE roots. i cried and the hairdresser seemed nervous and extremely unapologetic. they blow dried my hair which looked completely ridiculous. a rod steward style mullet, i couldn't believe it. I have had hair extensions previously so will not at all accept the answer that the extensions contributed to the loss of my hair. it was the aggressive ripping and removal along with thoughtless colour use and application. to add insult to injury the whole process cost me 1600 riyals! plus an extra 100 riyals for two coffees which i naively presumed were complimentary. i frequently visit top hair salons in London and Dubai and never in my life have i experienced such despicable customer service and treatment from a salon.

never again would i visit or recumbent this salon.
I flew to Dubai 2 days later and went to en vogue salon where they attempted to do what they could with the monstrosity i was left with, they provided me with the reassurance customer service and options that i expect when paying top prices. along with a complimentary head massage and coffees.

I booked a spa treatment for myself and two female friends: a 90-minute ‘Relaxing Aroma’ massage (QAR 925). Collectively we all work and wanted a special ‘girly’ spa treatment from what we were advised as ‘the best Spa in Doha.’ During the telephone booking and subsequent confirmation booking call, I advised the receptionist that we needed two XXL robes and a normal XL robe and noted that although I was in the Top 2% for reviewing hotels and restaurants, etc., for TripAdvisor in Doha that I was not there to review the place only to enjoy it and that my friend should be spoiled as it is here first ever spa experience.

That aside, on our arrival we were delighted immediately with the ambience and state of relaxation as you enter the spa lobby. I knew we were in for a treat. In a last minute dash, the Spa Attendee went to find the robes, frantically opening each of the lockers. We got changed and entered the indoor pool and hydro-therapy area. A large section was cordoned off for Maintenance, apparently my friend said it was a wave pool as she stayed at the hotel previously on a ‘stay-cation.’ There were wet towels and two empty water bottles on the indoor sun loungers and wet towels on all the heated marble recliners. We had nowhere to lie down or recline. My friend sat on the end corner of one available lounger, whilst my other friend and I went to the indoor pool. My friend who is also a frequent spa visitor (though not to the Four Seasons Doha) did not know how to turn on the Jacuzzi or air jets, no-one showed us and some of them just didn’t come on when the panel of buttons were pressed. As we were leaving, another party of three came in, looked around and what appeared to be management (suit and trousers, well dressed with a gold-coloured identity pin) was talking with them. Clearly they were complaining. I wanted to speak up and say that the area was of an unacceptable standard of hygiene and poor housekeeping but I did not want to ruin the spa experience for my other two friends (one friend, it was her first time). We then went to another part of a Jacuzzi area and could see that the ‘ice area’ was under Maintenance Works (at this point, we were not advised of this at the time of the booking) only to say that we were not permitted entrance to the outside pools. We did not mind this, we didn't book the Four Seasons Spa to get a tan, we booked the Spa for the Spa! Faced with the lack of service, we just decided to wait in the Treatment Room, which was even more relaxing, except for the tacky (and I mean tacky) fibre optic, intense white-blue LED lights flashing from the mini ‘bush’ in the corner. Furthermore, there were no glasses, only a decanter of something and two small bottles of water. Again, three women and two water bottles, so we gave that a miss!

Off to the treatment room, this was what we had been eagerly awaiting. The therapist asked if I needed any special areas to focus on, I noted ‘my shoulders’, she then said, ‘yeah, you mentioned that on your form.’ She then said ‘you have circled moderate pressure’ but reminded me it was a relaxing treatment. So why ask me, I could have been ignorant and put on the form ‘ehh isn’t the massage meant to be soft pressure anyway’ but I didn’t. I asked if I could have a dry robe for post-treatment as mine was wet, she told me, ‘you should have asked for that earlier, besides, you should not get wet 30 minutes before a treatment/lying down.’ Are you kidding me? Everyone knows you can ‘enjoy the spa facilities before your treatment’ otherwise why would we arrive 30-45 minutes before the treatment? And so the massage started, slowly, very slowly smearing oil with one hand. I just thought if I have 90 minutes of this, it will be sheer torture. And so after asking if the temperature was alright, the music was alright, she continued. I was not in the almost dozing off, mild meditative state but I figured it would get better as time went on…..it didn’t. She had just finished my right foot and was now working on my left leg, and foot until she slowed down the small circular movement of her thumb. I thought this unusual as the other foot had more massaging before. Then she stopped and I lay there on my back with a heated eye mask. I instinctively knew she was at something. I just lay there with the dilemma of what was happening: she wasn't getting more oil, more towels, or whatever. Some time had passed and I just thought, I have to do something here to distract her back to her work. And so, I pretended to scratch my nose (which was how I could discreetly move the eye mask) and when I did, she frantically starting rubbing with her thumb again. After a few more seconds, she stopped again and I saw the light from her MOBILE screen. I was just shocked. I lay there in disbelief thinking 'are you kidding me, my husband will not believe this!' When I caught her, she jumped slightly and kept massaging. Very shortly after, she was done with the treatment and asked me how it was ‘did I enjoy it.’ I told her ‘I know what you did during that treatment.’ She offered to bring me to the Relaxation Room for a choice of water or tea. Again, I re-iterated what I said, she just offered the Relaxation….(you get the picture). And so I went in, my friends were there, one seemed in a mild meditative trance, and the other was like me, very alert and awake. And so, in the Relaxation Room I lay there with a cup of hot tea in damp and cold bathing robe….cold because the air conditioning was on it as I was being massaged. There was no post-treatment nap, nothing…..

I went to get showered, only two were working as wait for it, the other shower was under Maintenance. The Swiss shower was working but I did not know how to work it as very hot (unbearably hot) water poured overhead and cold sprays of water jetted from the sides. Besides, there was no place to hang my robe or towel on the inner part of the shower (only outside) and leaving the robe outside the shower was not an option (as my friend is Muslim and I respect the local customs on ‘covering up’). So I waited until my friends were finished, they said the water was cold but began to warm up at the end of the shower. We were all dressed and in our clothes, with no desire to blow dry our hair. As we began to pay, I looked for a Manager in order to discreetly get his/her contact details and notify them of what happened. There was no envelope to provide a tip to your therapist because I had planned to write a note saying ‘here’s my tip, be more professional and don’t answer your phone during my treatment.’ We all paid and left. We went to the Après Spa Café, which to be fair, the food was nice and staff were welcoming.

As one of my friends departed, my other friend suggested the husbands and her kids should come and have dinner. To be honest, I just wanted to go home. We went to the ground floor area and was told the outside was ‘closed off for Ramadan’ yes, it is almost a month away but after the spa episode, nothing shocked me anymore. And so we ate and we left. I got home and explained what happed to my husband who in turn, suggested I contact the Manager of the Spa. I telephoned Mik (the Manager) who initially disbelieved the notion that the therapist was checking her phone and suggested that she was looking at her watch for the time. Ehhh, no jewellery is to be worn by therapists. Eventually, he agreed it was unacceptable behaviour and suggested that he could make it up to me, to come back either with my friends or alone, to have ‘the true Four Seasons experience.’ He also noted he would discuss the episode with the therapist (by now he must have sourced who did the treatment at 1.15pm). He noted she had 20 years’ experience but to me, that means nothing to me with my experience. She has become complacent and in hindsight, I thought she didn’t understand me when I spoke with her after but her English was sufficient enough to speak to me at the start about the robe, the pressure, the music, etc.

Although the treatment was on a Friday afternoon and I telephoned to complain that evening, and even after I explained that I am in the Top 2% in Doha on TripAdvisor with over 29,000+ readers, Mik noted he would call me back ‘next week’. There is no sense of urgency to rectify the matter, only an apologetic tone and suggestion that my friends and I return to the Spa sometime before we leave for the summer. I reminded him that we live in Doha: we are not expats who abandon Doha for the summer months as ‘we live and work here.’ At present, Mik is ‘rectifying’ the matter and I have woke-up to the fact that even if I were offered a reimbursement of QAR925, it means nothing! Armed with the information of who I was at the time of booking, the Spa did not exercise all efforts to go ‘all out’ and make it a lovely experience; instead, they made it an ‘unforgettable’ one for all the wrong reasons. Likewise, upon informing Mik of who I was, there was no immediate intent to resolve the issue, other than to speak with the therapist after her last treatment. At present, it is now 11.00am on the following morning, no phone call, no follow-up and so, without the degree of urgency my complaint warranted and quick turnaround to resolve the issue, I had to post this review. This is categorically the longest and most descriptive review I have EVER posted on TripAdvisor. I dare say, upon it being published I will receive a call much sooner.
So expats and fellow potential visitors of the Spa at the Four Seasons Doha……give the Spa a miss because it just takes one therapist to make it a bad experience.
Granted, it could happen anywhere but when there are multiple factors (e.g. wave pool entirely cordoned off, ice room and showers closed for Maintenance, wet towels and empty bottles on loungers/recliners, no beverages in the waiting area, etc., lying down in a wet robe and above all, using a phone during my treatment is just unforgivable).

At no time during the booking they do not advise this nor offer another suggestion, For example, use of outside pool whilst maintenance work takes place (HINT: a great incentive to get it fixed in the first instance) then you are being sold a dis-service. Go elsewhere!

Terrible customer service. The hair dressers are ok although the one time I had a cut they screwed up my cut and left me with this weird half fringe thing that I couldn't do anything with. The colour is blah. I tried to tell the hairdresser what kind of blond I wanted, using two different blond highlights and an ashy tone and he was like trust me I'll make you blond but we're doing it my way. There's no communication you just have to sit there and hope they get it. When I went to pay the woman snatched my card off me and after I put in the pin she took the card out and put it in front of me and walked off to talk to someone else. No thank you for coming, have a good day or can I book you in for an appointment in a month or two, nothing. So rude.

This is definitely the best Spa in Doha. The facilities are just amazing and the atmosphere is great. I would recommend you to have a treatment with Mustapha. He offers great massages. You can also enjoy all the Spa facilities after or before the treatments. It is absolutely recommended!

I had an excellent massage few time time in here. Balinese massage is my favorite one. Kudos to my therapists Atsa, Wassana and Warni, they are really professional and knowledgeable therapists. They know how to solve my muscles problems. I felt very energized and fresh after having treatment.
I could recommend to try this Spa. Also they have very nice Spa Facilities.
