Memorial Museum houses a grim reminder of the crimes committed the Iraqi regime during the invasion in 1990 .
but unfortunately it closed in 2017 due to government project in the area. where move to it is still unknown and where will be relocated .

KHNWM does a valuable job and is of national importance. The welcome one gets is always warm and helpful. I wish, dearly wish there was more care taken with the maintenance of the museum and it is high time the diorama display was rethought and redone. Great concept but wish more work went in to the displays, especially given the work they do with school visits.

this is one of the important museums in Kuwait.if you're a student or tourist you would be good
if you came , see & remember Operation Desert Storm and the liberation of Kuwait.
good thing
1-I love this museum I just wish they took better care of it and re-located it to a better place.
2-location very good.
3- modern history remember.
4-wonderful history with fine examples
5-jewellery
6-Hand craft
7-photo of of Kuwait.
bad thing
1- bad translation in memorial.
2-no tour guide.
3-people who work in the museum know little about modern history of kuwait & Desert Storm operation.
4-i think it need more care. for example
A-short movie about Desert Storm operation.
B-books about Desert Storm operation.
C-short movie about martyrs of Kuwait.
D-short movie about martyrs of Desert Storm operation.
E-offer translation in french ,french ,Spanish,German,Urdu & indu.
Overall the museum was quite when i was went.
The museum is best reached by taxi and can be combined with a visit to the nearby Arab Fund Building. Alternatively, take bus 13 along Arabian Gulf St to the airport and get off at KPC, the steel and concrete headquarters of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation
the fee 1 KD
it worth visit.

This museum also known as the WAR MUSEUM was really very good and awesome until one day it just closed for good. It was such a pity that all those nice arts, crafts, and many other displays about the Iraq war that took place to dethrone the rule of Saddam Hussein in 2003 with the shock & Awe effect as well as the final display of his statue that was pulled down finally from Nasser Square.
It is REALLY SAD 😞 and hope they open it again one day

Someone has actually thought about this and set out a wonderful history with fine examples and relics. I really loved the examples of the gold and turquoise jewellery - my two favourite things so to see the craft and work that went into the jewellery was lovely.

This museum tells an important story in Kuwait. The museum uses models and lightin to progress through the majority of the exhibits. The presentation is perhaps a tad slow, as I prefer to browse some exhbitis at my own pace.
OVerall the museum was quite when I visited but we had no problem being welcomed in. The improtant artifacts and the models tell the incredible history from the early 90s and is important for Kuwait's and visitors to visit.
The only issue was that I had a lot of trouble finding someone who knew where the place was, but once I called them my taxi driver found it.

Tried to find the Kuwait House for National Works Museum unsuccessfully twice. Drive up and down the road it is supposedly located on. There appears to be no directional signage on the road pointing to the museum nor is there a sign on the side of the building facing the road indicating where it is. If you ca find it you are a beet man the me.

This museum is a hard one to get into - they keep very irregular hours and after having tried several times (only to have found that it was closed) without getting in I finally made it! This is a great museum, a cool project, and a great account of the invasion and liberation of Kuwait. Well worth the visit, go in the morning between 9am and 12pm or wait until the evening and they open again (in theory) after 5pm to 8pm.

This was a fascinating museum, really brings to life the horrors of the Iraqi invasion but also gives a nice potted history of Kuwait before that. Brilliant guide, fluent in English, very knowledgeable and passionate about the museum. Highly recommend it.
But a word of warning: it is not where the map on this website says it is. Correct address is Block 7, 71 Street, Shuwaikh. Behind the Prime Minister's residence, just before the KPC building if you are coming from Downtown. If you get lost, just call the museum and they will help you to find it. Don't let this put you off going there!
