Got bored here by the long talk re Islam!
Having recently visited mosques in Morocco, Egypt and Jordan, I got bored here by the long explanation about the Islamic religion. Most of the tours I had attended in other countries, the guides simply talked about the mosques themselves such as dates constructed, materials used , etc and then I was let go to move around the mosques and take photos. This was not the case here! Took some pictures here of the chandeliers, ceiling area, wood panels, etc. before hurrying to meet my driver waiting outside. Returned the abaya to the Reception Area. Note that toilet facilities are located outside, near the Parking Area.

    Mosque and Islamic Center
Its other name is the Al Fateh Mosque or the Great Mosque. At the Reception area, we were told to wear tne abaya, men did the same. took off our shoes as we entered the mosque. Tne guide breifly talked about the construction of the mosque. We then were told to sit down and explanations about how Muslims pray, prayers, Islam religion, etc. The presentation lasted about 30 minutes. Briefly took some pictures inside the mosque before leaving.

    Very informative tour
A lovely mosque with some amazing features such as the chandelier. Not as big or as grand as Abu Dhabi, but definitely worth a visit. The guide gives lots of information about the mosque and the Islam faith which was very interesting and informative. Definitely on the “To Do” list when in Bahrain.

    Beautiful mosque
The only mosque in Bahrain open for non muslims. It is one of the largest mosques in the world. Free guided tour was provided. They also provide Abayas for women. It is open for tours from 9am-4pm except Fridays.

A visit to the mosque in Bahrain.
Alhamdulillah, during my maiden visit to the KIngdom of Bahrain, I had the chance to visit this grand mosque as one of the stops with a city tour that we were on. Did a small prayer in the main hall and joined the rest of the entourage for the tour conducted by volunteers in the mosque. Was really impressed with the tour given, as not only did the guide explained to us the history of the mosque, but he also shared a bit of knowledge on the religion of islam, how muslims pray and etc. A brief explanation, just enough to share an introduction of the religion which was insightful even for me being a muslim!

    A must!
Stunning. A must. Well looked after. Beautiful building inside and outside. Don't worry if you are not correctly dressed, they will give you something to cover up inside. We had a guided tour lasting around twenty minutes which was very good. The guide gave us a lot of useful information on the mosque and Islam. I am Muslim myself but learnt a lot from him. After the tour, we could walk around ourselves and take photographs. Closed every Friday. Footwear must be removed before entering.

    Very friendly and welcoming place
An interesting place to see in Bahrai. For me, the best part of the mosque were the people working at the place. Everybody was very friendly and welcoming here. I also appreciate good English that these people spoke, making it very easy to communicate with the tourists. To enter the place, women need to be covered. There are some abayas that can be borrowed, so this is not an issue if you don't have some cover of head on your own. No ticket to enter the place needed.

This was my second visit and learned something different. Your mosque tour is actually done by mosque personnel not your tour guide. On arrival, you check in and are issued appropriate covering and remove your shoes. First, a history of how the mosque was constructed and the history, followed by a brief explanation of mosque practices and the meanings of the prayers etc. Free to walk around briefly before leaving. Lots of free brochures and booklets if you wish to learn more,
Its respectful and a great way to appreciate the culture you are visiting.

We had read about this mosque and were not disappointed!
This is a real marvel in all its facets when it comes to fine architecture.
We had the luck of having of a wonderful guide who guided us around and explained us the history of Bahrain and its religion. Interesting! We were lucky that we arrived before a coach with other tourists entered the mosque so were able to take marvelous pictures. Always impressed when you one sees the grandeur of such buildings.... same in Moscat, Abu Dhabi, Mosta.....
Think without religion in your mind and discover the beauty of these constructions!

I had never visited a Mosque and was very, very impressed.
I was given my own English speaking guide who was very knowledgeable and answered even my most ridiculous question.
Because I had shorts on, I was given a robe to wear.
Photography was allowed inside. It was one of the most interesting visits I have had in the world.
I would definitely do this again.

I visited this mosque as part of a city your. The local tour guide here is very passionate and could go on for hours uninterrupted. He explains everything about that mosque and the religion very well. I could come back here just to learn more about the history of the place again.

My family found are tour of this Great Mosque very interesting. To start, the ladies at the mosque were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. My wife and mother had to adjust their clothes a little to accommodate the dress code, but the mosque is well prepared to help. Then we had a brief tour of the main hall prayer room, which included a well presented history of religion and how it has changed over time (and not just Islam). Our family is not very religious and so this tour very quite interesting and made us think. We came away with a greater appreciation of how religion started and left us with many more questions of how religion is practiced today. We would highly recommend a visit to Al-Faith Mosque.

Not much of a tour of the Mosque. A breif history of the mosque was given and the rest of the time was an explanation of Islam. Strict dressier, but garments were provided if you didn't meet them. Great to see once.

Visiting the mosque was a great experience. We had a very nice guide who explained about the mosque and about Islam; she was quite informative. The mosque is very impressive, inside and outside. There is a majlis where I was offered a date and a bottle of water. Everyone there is very kind. I highly recommend a visit here if you are in Bahrain.
