This is a mostly finished church with a small interior. The attractions are the plaques around the Church that are the Our Father written in many different languages-some languages that are almost extinct. they are beautifully crafted. There is also a small garden.

Pater Noster Church is on Mount Olives in Jerusalem. It was a monastery, a convent, and later became a church. Helena, the mother of Constantine founded this site during her visit to Roman Palestina. A Byzantine church was built over the cave where Jesus taught his 12 disciples, the Lord's Prayer.

The Lord's Prayer is a recital and doctrinal ritual in Christianity. The church walls are displayed with the Lord's Prayer. There are over 171 plaques in different languages in Paster Noster Church. It is administered by the French Missionary.

This place took time when we visited in a group of 50 in November 2022, because there were several other large groups waiting too. We went inside the cave to see the Rock, said to be where Jesus sat and taught the Lord's Prayer. We just had a few minutes to quickly see some of the 177 translations of the prayer, displayed all around the compound.

A must-see during any pilgrimage to The Holy Land. Located on the Mount of Olives the Church of the Pater Noster is where our Lord taught the 'Our Father' to his disciples. The Our Father prayer is inscribed in beautiful mosaic tablets in the grounds of the Church in 140 languages.

This church is situated at the entrance to the Mount of Olives. It has extensive formal terraces with tiled walls. It is a peaceful and spiritual place although crowded. It will likely be part of any tour of the religious sites in Jerusalem.

The Pater Noster is usually called the "Our Father" in the Catholic faith and "The Lord's Prayer" by Protestants. The Church of the Pater Noster is on the Mount of Olives. It is a relatively small church, but it is much-loved by pilgrims to the Holy Land, as the Pater Noster can be found written in many languages. Jesus is believed to have taught his Disciples to pray the Peter Noster here.

The Church of the Pater Noster celebrating the location where Our Lord taught his disciples to pray on the Mount of Olives, and specifically, teaching them to pray the Pater Noster - Our Father, is located in the upper area of the Mount of Olives.
The grounds and gardens are well landscaped and maintained, but the most significant thing about the Church, to me, was the room with The Our Father written in every language on large placques on the walls that were provided by each country.
The Church of the Pater Noster is pleasant and peaceful, no where near as crowded as some of the other sacred locations in Jerusalem, and well worth a visit while touring the Holy Land.

Find your national or local language here of the Lord's prayer scattered all over church in 140 languages. Church is just a few walks from the Chapel of the Ascension in Mount of Olives damaged by Saladin during the siege of Jerusalem.
