we had very low expectations of the kings city. we had read bad reviews. but we had to check out of our hotel and didn't want to go home yet and got a cheap ticket (buy 1 get one free) from our credit card and it was right next to our hotel so we figured, why not.

the place looks amazing from the outside, but inside it is a lot less fancy.

there are 6 exhibits:

1) 4d movie on the Pharoes or egypt. we went into an English screening, but they mistakenly showed the Hebrew version. it wasn't an issue for us since we all speak fluent Hebrew but I am sure it was unpleasant for others. the 3d was cool, the movement and other 4d stuff was a little pointless and didn't add anything. that being said the movie was good and we all enjoyed it, from my 2 year old girl to my wife and myself

2) the room of illusions. this was relly the main part of the place. there are lots of really cool tricks and some silly ones. one could easily spend several hours in this section. the section is supposed to have 2 slides in the middle a shorter one and a long one. only the short one was available. when I asked why the long one was closed they said it was because it needed more workers. that seems like an unacceptable answer to me. there was also a hall of mirrors and a sort of horror hall which we enjoyed.

3) you exit into the cafeteria which has a little Gymboree with an area for babies and another area for older children. the cafeteria was as expected ridiculously expensive.

4) the kid solomons boat ride. you see the boat going down the slide and expect this to be the highlight of the place. it is SO boring. This is 20 minutes of my life i will never get back. Granted there are nice animatronics, but I would recommend you skip this. the only interesting par is the slide at the end, but it seems so unconnected to the previous part of the ride.

5) tunnels: so apparently there are some old tunnels that run under the area. in those tunnels they set up all sorts of bible stories in mini-anomatronics. they were nice, but the real fun is walking through the tunnels.

6) the funland mini amusement park. you get 3 rides per person with the entrance. you can buy more .. there are a lot of small carnival style rides. don't expect six flags here. americans will probably consider this a waste of time, but my kids enjoyed it.

all in all we were pleasantly surprised. I doubt we will ever go again and we would certainly not pay the 125 NIS full price, but ifyou have a free afternoon in eilat and the weather isn't great its worth a try

This place is best for families with kids and has an educational-historical emphasis. Very good for Jews from abroad and Israelis, not for tourists.

Where do I start...I was so shocked!
You'll know what I mean as soon as you step inside. But I sure hope this review will deter you from going there. It is not worth the money and effort. Two out of 5 sections were closed and the remaining sections were so poorly done that it was embarrassing, for example the bible cave which is meant to deliver you enriching biblical stories through displays and audio system was a complete waste of any anticipation. Flimsy dolls which move only few millimeters and uninteresting audio were pure disappointment.
The outside was yet another disaster, the Solomon ride was broken, Noah's ark was closed, what was remaining was kiddy version of empty rides with bored staff.

I would strongly urge you NOT to include this in your itinerary. I can only imagine that the positive reviews given to King's city would be by those who are somehow related to the owner. A huge mistake, not to be repeated!!! You have been WARNED

Late review but awful memory still fresh! We had a few extra hours and decided to try Kings city even though have red up some poor reviews! We where actually there end of January. The price is ridiculous for what they offer. There are 4 rides and even if you did it slow would probably take 35 min in total. There whee some heavy rains that day and 3 of the 4 rides where closed, which they failed to say when purchasing the tickets! (unlike almost every amusement park where they clearly state what rides aren't working posted by every ticket counter.) We needed to take some elevator to get the only working exhibit, but the power kept on shutting off (I can understand as Eilat is not used to heavy rains), so I went back to the front and asked for a refund. Was told we should either wait a few minutes when they will open the rides or they can allow us to come back a different day. (I was leaving Israel the next day). So we waited and waited about 40 min later they told us it was safe to go in the elevator. Of course the elevator shut down in the middle and we where stranded on a broken elevator for about 20 minutes. When we did finally se the exhibit it was nothing to special and actually the whole way thru the exhibit people where making fun of how silly this place is. In short AVOID even as its not worth the cost of about $9 per exhibit per person when they are all working. The only fun we had at the end we payed couple of dollars and I played air hockey at a childs table, the ones they have for free in the hotels kids areas!

The ticket cost 125 shekels for adults.
It’s fantastic for kids and pleasant for adults.
In fact, adults shouldn’t expect an adrenalin-packed experience.
It's open also in the afternoon.
In May it's wonderful because there are no queues so you can enjoy everything without waiting.
In the section Journey To The Past you can watch a four-dimensional movie about the palaces and temples of ancient Egypt. There’s one in English every hour.
The Cave Of Illusions And Wisdom has some displays which are very nice.
The Bible Cave is an underground path with niches carved into the walls where you can see some famous Bible scenes. I appreciated especially the interpretation of Pharaoh’s dreams by Joseph.
King Solomon's Waterfalls is a boat ride through seven caves. At the end you glide down a fall from the top of the Palace. You can get a bit wet. It’s really funny.
When using the Spiral of David Slides watch your elbows because I hurt them while gliding.
Ask at the entrance the key to store your bags. You'll get the key by giving your ID card.
Unfortunately I discovered later that the entrance to 3 attractions in the little amusement park outside the theme park was included in the ticket.

Basically an indoor entertainment activity that doesn't really provide enough activity for the high entry price.
Buying tickets through the website saves you 20% on the window price, however the website is only in Hebrew so you need a browser that will convert the text so you know which tab to select.
We took 2 adults, 2 children (ages 7 & 5), and 2 seniors and the total cost was NIS514 (about US$150).

The attraction has 4 components, a 3D movie, boat ride through a biblical experience that ends with 2 water drops (warning don't sit near the back of the ride or you'll get wet), enclosed indoor slides from about 10m high, maze walk.
In addition there are a few hands on activities for children, and each ticket entitles you to 3 rides from a small selection outside the main building.

Staff were friendly, interesting mix of 'old fashioned' displays along with state of the art. The end ride is a must do, especially at night.

They call it a kind of "theme park", yet, there isn't really any theme and it's barely a few rooms, not really a park. In addition, the place is heavily overpriced. Kids "may" like it, but don't expect the place to entertain them for more than just an hour or two, at best. If you are considering to come in alone, without the kids - don't even bother, there is nothing in it for an adult, except, maybe, the main ride, that isn't nearly worth the entry ticket price.

Thats the way to get to know real jewish and biblical stories from those times. The park is built with lots of colors and a grear tatse of design. The price is fine, and the time is well used. Many 3d movies, advanced technologies and a great nice roller coaster to share all the biblical goods. A real must.
