You walk through dark rooms with stories to read that explains and illustrates the history and life surrounding Masada. Also includes its research. This includes audio tour headphones. Gives good overview before exploring the ruins on top.
I have been there twice in the last years - surprisingly they added new archeological exhibits to it. We did it with a tour guide, but you can rent an audio tour roo, which is very comfortable, if you want to dig in to history...More
Great museum with wonderful audio. Rooms portraying the different stages of Masada's history, filled with fascinating artifacts...especially the shards with names written on them...possibly the real ones used to decide who would be the last one alive? Don't miss this!
The museum had many archaeological exhibits. While interesting, they were not unique. But truly fascinating were such exhibits as the battle tactics of the Roman legions used to finally win and the diet at the time. I'm surprised so few people bother to visit. They're...More
You need to take a cable car to the top of the mountain to view the Masada fortress remains. While you are there, don't miss the museum. Grab a head set and begin your journey back in time in the areas of Masada and the...More

Great piece of this region history so you must go there and visit the place. Best way is to go up the hill if you some more time. It takes about 30-50 minutes depends on conditions. Great views from heaven.
I'm italian, so Im used to see LOADS of archeological sites and artifacts therefore was not very impressed by the site or the museum. Especially compared to the beauty of the area itself. There is so much more to see in the mountains around Masada,...More
The place is amazing, lots of history, great view, must see place, the bad thing is that handicaps cant actually come here if they have a wheel chair, I think this must be fixed if the place says it gives easy access to them...
Much to see. Much to learn. Much to understand. Take a tour, or get a book and read up before you go to truly understand and appreciate.
Advice: take a hat, and bottle of water, wear comfortable walking shoes.
