The food there is now being cooked by a professional foreign chef who prepares everything from scratch, no freezer to fryer meals. Sauces etc are made using home made stock, all the food is freshly prepared. You'll probably also get to meet the chef Mark,...More
A new fresh kitchen is in town! Nothing freezer to fryer! Weekly specials available. Good hearty pub grub! 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, set menu with a Roast Dinner. Either beef or lamb, reservations needed for Sundays. Lots of vegetarian options too.
Quaint little bar just of a very hectic bar district, as was said previously next to a very loud Jolly Joker, playing a very loud Boom Boom Boom, everybody say..... etc two doors up. It’s 10pm on a Wednesday, wouldn’t get away with that sort...More
The James Joyce is a great home from home for Westerners. An easy to understand menu and favourite beers, great music and English spoken by everyone. We enjoyed our night cap after a evening wondering along Istiklal.
As an Irishman I tend to shy away from Irish bars abroad. Came across this one and popped in. The staff are very chatty and helpful. Mostly local staff. The Guinness here was the best I have had outside Ireland for a longtime. Had a...More
There are several Irish pubs in Istanbul but this may be the best of them mostly due to the friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and the quality of drinks (except the green beer on St. Patrics's day :-) The music is good, mostly classics, the food...More

It is my second time at this pub. The live performance on Friday is crazy good! The song playlist suits all ages and is really good. I strongly recommend having the night out at this pub after a decent quick dinner in Istiklal street.
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening
nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
