Park with many fountains
Aug 2019
The Youth Park is located in the rarely visited north western section of town. It is easily reached by taking trolleybus 2,10 and 11 or Bus 8,13 23 and 37. Get off at the Navruz Palace bus stop on Ismoil Somoni Avenue. This bus stop will be easily identifiable by the huge man made lake to the south. Walk to the left or right of the Zoo to Nizomi Ganjavi Street where the park begins. The park is a long 1.5 km walk, but there are many beautiful flower gardens, fountains and other structures to view whilst walking.

We walked during the day when it was really hot, and regretted not visiting later in the day. Although the park is a large "green" area, there is little or no protection from the sun, as the park was recently constructed and most of the trees are fairly young, and don't provide shade cover. We were the only persons in the park for the 20 minutes that it took us to walk it's length. There are two large fountains in the park, which make for great photos. The flowerbeds were well maintained and all the plants seemed to be healthy.

At the mid-point of the park, there was a storyboard which had a map of the park, and highlighted attractions including a play area and go kart track. There was a beautiful circular flowerbed in this area, and a book shaped monument which stated the date of the park opening in 2018. To the west of this area is the main arched entrance gate to the park. We continued north to the end of the park, as we had planned to visit the new city mosque which is to the left of this area. The park ends at Karamov Street, which has many transportation options, as a number of buses are on this route.

Attractions near the northern section of the park include the Capital Park, a short walk east on Karamov Street, which is a huge amusement facility and if you cross the road and walk uphill to Lutschob Park, this area includes graves and memorials to famous poets and artists from Tajikistan. In the southern section of Youth park, attractions which may be visited include the Zoo, Navruz Palace and Borbad hall,
