Although it is not the museum to visit in Astana/Kazakhstan, I think it would be a very interesting museum to visit if you have the time and you are within the area. The museum was the first office of the President when the capital shifted...More

I believe this museum is compulsory for every Kazakh at various stages of their life. It feels a bit weird that a living (and ruling) president would open a 4 floor museum dedicated entirely to himself (one floor is for the gifts he received from...More

A lot of gold jewellery and even a reputed Golden Man from 4th century. Only local archeologists have examined the golden man and a bejeweled horse. Lots of local and regional handcrafts.

This is the first office o the President when the capital was moved to Astana in 1997. The President moved out again in 2004, but many of the rooms are kept in original condition. There are also some very interesting exhibitions about the President and...More

So curious to find a museum dedicated to the legacy of a president who's still alive but there's a lot of Nazarbayev in Astana so it's not that unusual. Free entrance and a few interesting knick-knacks to look at including many gifts he was given...More

The admission is free and the location is quite central, so if you are around and with some free time have a look. The memorabilia presented is very focused on the gifts and awards received by the president and some general awards of the country...More

A previous office of the president, and a collection of gifts which he has received from around the world. Good place to spend some extra time: air condition is working and there was no entrance fee.

I was quite sceptical about this museum having read some of the reviews but was very pleasantly surprised to find it interesting and informative. The museum is free and has explanations in English. The staff were welcoming and explained about putting plastic overshoes on our...More

I think this is worth visiting just for the point of view. It is definitely unusual to see a museum dedicated to one president (especially as he's still alive), and the hero worship on show is the real attraction. Definitely worth a visit for a...More
