Nice course with terrible staff.
Dec 2020
The course is nice and close to the City but the marshals must be trained better. There are too many of them around and they have tendency to pick on people they know that are not "important" if you are playing in front of "special" customers. Yesterday, December 11, 2020, when we got to a par-3 hole, the group before us were still putting but when we were putting, a marshal walk into the green to tell us to speed up. I told him he should not walk into the green while we were putting. He kept follow us on every holes thereafter until I talked to him again. He then called another marshal to follow us for the next 5 holes even though there was no group in front or behind us that we can see. The caddies were not trained to fill the divots and all. The marshals should focus on doing that instead of harassing their customers.

BFYB course!

We headed to Saigon after our adventures in Central Vietnam so naturally I had to try their city golf courses. Booked at TSN golf as it was closest to our hotel (11kms/35 mins by taxi from District 3).
Kept my expectations low, after all this was a city public course.
Note that it's pretty difficult to book as a solo player in Saigon but the trick is to just turn up to TSN course, go to the check in counter and let them know that you don't have a booking. They will communicate this to the starters and will slot you in a group.
I went one weekday afternoon and they pretty much found a group for me straight away. A 2-ball just finished teeing off on the 1st so my male caddy and i met them on the 2nd teebox.
It is a cracking golf course, made up of 4 x 9 holes (A,B,C,D) so you can have varying 18 hole configurations. It's beautifully maintained and was an absolute pleasure to play. Fairways are excellent, great layout with soft fluffy bunkers. I was in awe and the fact that it is right next to the airport didn't bother me at all. I still completed 18 holes (in about 4.5 hours) finishing on the 1st hole.
A-grade facilities also incl massage chairs.
I also went back on a Saturday which was much busier. I waited for about an hour before I found a group to join, then took 5.5 hours to complete 18 holes.
Green fees are VND2.0M on weekdays and VND2.6M on weekends incl cart. Caddy tips additional.
Go out there and have a hit. An absolute bang-for-your-buck course and one to remember, just avoid it on weekends. And yes it will be hot & humid so be prepared. Lots of walking required as carts never leave the cartpath.
Tip: across the road from the main entrance are shops that sell good quality used balls cheaply.

Cracking holiday course
Sep 2019
Played Tan Son Nhat today on the B + C course. Overall a good value, frighteningly efficient and very enjoyable morning. Some hopefully helpful points:

Organisation - I played as a single and was encouraged to play early so they could match me up with another player. We then joined a third player on our 2nd hole. By the end of my 18th, there was a cart waiting to take me back to the clubhouse as my partner finished his final hole...

Course is fairly open, well bunkered, with water on numerous holes. Par 3s particularly strong. Green and conditioning immaculate, despite torrential rain in the days beforehand. Played long - the fairways don't run.

Club hire: about £30 for fairly new Callaways, the irons were better than the woods. Putter was a bit ropey but got the job done!

Caddies: don't expect expert advice (especially not in English) but do expect plenty of smiles and to be well looked after.

Food: the summer deal includes 18 holes, buggy, caddy and a meal which was a substantial buffet, very much catering for the (almost exclusively) Vietnamese golfers.

FIrst experence of Vietnam Golf
Jul 2019
This was my first round of 7 on a recent trip to Vietnam. The course was fantastic and the facilities superb. I played the C and D Courses and they were well presented. Pace of play was a little slow but then there was only 2 of us. The mens locker rooms and the restaurant were superb. It is located by the airport in Ho Chi Minh City so pretty handy to central city.
I highly recommend this course.

4 - 9 holes
course fairly easy for all type of golfers
prices are a bit high for an average course
they need to be more organize and selective of which course to place players
depend on their ability and experience

Tan Son Golf Resort has very efficient reception. We had to change our booking twice, they were very accomodating.
Huge clubhouse, very high quality interior and change rooms. Knowledgeable caddies.
Excellent layout of course, terrific, large sloping greens. Fairways could be slightly improved. 4 x 9 holes.Next to airport.
Generally a pleasure to play. Good challenge.
Restaurant has buffet, or a-la-carte. Very reasonable prices, good food.

Ridiculously slow and unorganised

I’ve been here a few times already and every time I fave the same issue. Not again. This is what your game at Tan Son Nhat will look like:
- Book a tee time online or via phone.
- Turn up at your time and get asked to go at the back of the clubhouse for your bag and caddie. Then wait. Wait a lot. Until they match you up in a group.
- Don’t expect knowing what of the 4 courses are you playing!
- Spend, at least, 6h on the course, most of the time waiting to tee off in each hole. As an average you’ll spend between 10 and 15 minutes wait.
- Then, get rushed by the Marshall throughout the hole.

I’ve played many other courses in Vietnam and this one is, hands down, the worse one so don’t let its location fool you and spend your valuable time and money somewhere else...

Fantastic golf course

You can choose among 4 9-hole courses. We played on B and A courses. Fairways and greens are very well maintained. Male caddies are friendly and helpful to carry clubs but not to give advise on greens
Facilities (restaurant, locker rooms...) are great and very clean
Fantastic afternoon spent there

course condition and facilities
Sep 2018 • Friends
Lush perfect fairways and greens. hard course with plenty of water. Unbelieveable facilities, apparently owned by the military and the caddies work there to avoid two year military service. Does not detract from the excellent conditions and the caddies we had were good and worked hard and very respectful.
