I knew nothing about this site and was very glad I went to visit. I was able to spend a long time in calm contemplation. Beautiful photos to remember my time there.

The most beautiful temple in the heart of Chiang Mai. You should definitelly visit this monument. Enter is for 40 baht. So it is not a bug deal. Worth.

Highly recommended place in Chiang Mai. One of the most ancient and impressive temple in the city. Wat Chedi Luang massive chedi (pagoda) was built over 600 years ago. At its peak it towers a distinctive feature in Chiang Mai skyline. It was once the...More

The structure is very impressive and even beautiful in its unfinished condition. Surrounded by several smaller temples it's a nice oasis in the city where you can walk around and just enjoy the peace as you take in the views. One of the "must see"...More

I often visit this temple, the atmosphere is excellent. You could feel the calmness and kindness permeate throughout the site. This temple is certainly a respectful place, it has monk's school and place where you can study about Buddhism. And the hugh Chedi or the...More

This temple is quite interesting due to the variety it holds. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the old town.

I was impressed with the history and also monk chanting. This is typical tourist attraction and you can spend about 20-30 mins.

This was an absolutely beautiful setting and temples. We really enjoyed going just for somewhere to sit and stare at it as it is very very beautiful. Doesn't need a vast amount of time to see it, but it is worth seeing if you are...More

larger area, where different temples are located. One ancient temple is stunning, but you can't enter this temple. all other temples rather average. They ask an entry fee and rent you clothes to cover you completely. women are not allowed to enter the temples.

Hi, Not sure if there are set time or if there are one or more all day during opening hours. We saw a Monk sat with someone having a chat when we were there. That was around 15:00pm. I read somewhere that the earlier the... More

I doubt the temple will close that late, and it's more than likely to close around 6-7pm... The monks staying in the Chedi Luang need to rest anyway! :)

Hi Kuan, I verified this with my friend who lives in Chiang Mai. The temple is open from 8:00AM-5:00PM everyday. Hope this helps!
