My nephew and I recently completed a one-week trek along the Everest Base Camp trail arranged by Keep Walking Nepal, and we couldn’t be more happy with our choice of trekking agency. As we only had 7 days available for our trek, we were able to work out an itinerary that would take us about half way to EBC, giving plenty of opportunity to experience this kind of Himalayan trekking at altitude and to feast on the glorious views of Kongde, Thamserku, Kangtega, Ama Dablam and of course Everest herself, Nuptse and Lhotse. From the very beginning in the planning stages, Ang Tshering Sherpa, the head of KWN, communicated very promptly, professionally and clearly in making the arrangements, which gave me a very good feeling about the trek to come. From the moment we stepped out of the airport in Kathmandu and were given kata scarves as welcome, to the moment of being dropped back there to fly home, we were treated as if we were family with a genuine warmth and wonderful hospitality, and it was sad to have to bid farewell to our new friends. Every detail was well organized and arranged throughout, and we really savored a few of the “luxuries” available on trek such as attached baths and heated mattress pads in what turned out to be unusually cold weather, and utilizing helicopters to get around delays for the Lukla flights at KTM. We loved trying the local specialties such as the delicious Sherpa noodle soup called thukpa, and of course dal bhat, and found the food at the teahouses/lodges to be hearty and filling. Our guide was the amazing Chhiring Dorje Sherpa, and he did a fantastic job with two relative novices on their first Himalayan trek, he was very caring and patient all the way along, making sure we were as comfortable as possible, and well taken care of. My nephew felt ill with a virus in Namche, and Chhiring with no hassle at all sprang into action and arranged for him to stay there and rest for a few days in the hotel while I continued the trek. We also had a wonderful porter, Gelu, who had a great personality, and he and Chhiring made some very challenging days on the trail much lighter with their joking around and sense of humor. I can’t recommend Keep Walking Nepal highly enough, and am already looking forward to returning in 2020 for another exhilarating, exhausting and deeply spiritual pilgrimage into the heart of the Himalayas with our friends at KWN.

From initial email contact prior to the trip, right through to ensuring that we had the best rooms available, our recent experience with Keep Walking Nepal was perfect from start to finish. Being 65+ we were a little uncertain about our ability to tackle the steps and the rough sections of the Langtang track. Our extremely skilled English speaking guide, Pratap, was great company and kept us safe at all times, in what turned out to be a difficult trek due to constant rain and the consequent muddy track and landslips. Agreed adjustments to the schedule were made in line with the weather, track safety factors and our abilities - perfect guiding! Our guide and wonderful porter were obviously welcome and well respected at all our stops along the trek. Langtang Valley needs economic stimulus, having suffered terribly during the 2015 earthquake. It is a stunning area, and if you make it as far as Kyanjin, dont miss the new coffee shop just below the uphill beginning of the track to Kyanjin Ri . .. real espresso with friendly service. In summary, Keep Walking Nepal provided us with the perfect trip, every step of the way. They are trustworthy, organised, accessible and being local, embody all the values of Nepalese hospitality. Look no further! You have found the perfect trekking company.

I and my friend Jill signed up with Keep Walking Nepal to trek the Langtang Valley to the village of Langtang. It was an amazing experience. We had a guide Pratap who was very knowlegable and always put our safety first as well as a porter, Kakka to carry our bags. Our trek lasted 12 days including a tour of Kathmandu. The best bits were staying in the tea houses along the trek where we were able to meet the local people and eat some very delicious food including Sherpa Stew Soup. We were invited into the homes of these people and were able to watch them cook, The village of Lantang is being rebuilt after an earthquake a few years ago. Jill and I were both pleased to be able to contribute to the economy of the commmunity. As we are both ex teachers we visited the local primary school where we spent some time with the teacher as well as the beautiful children. Although some of the trek was hard we always felt we were well looked after with Pratap carring my day pack and helping me over difficult parts. Well done Keep Walking Nepal highly recommend the company!!

I met Ang and the team at KWN when I traveled to Nepal with a large group to volunteer at a 5 day medical and dental clinic in the village of Junbesi in the Everest region. KNW helped with logistics and interpreters for the clinic and then took excellent care of the volunteers when we all headed off on different directions on various treks of various durations. Ang and the KWN sherpas are all very competent and reliable and the food and the gear they provide is excellent. Most importantly, they are just really lovely people. We enjoyed our time with them so much I am planning another trip to Nepal and a trek with KWN next year!
