We stayed at the Chongwe River Camp for 3 days and I can’t speak highly enough of the camp, their staff and guides! Each morning we did a walking safari and most afternoons a safari in a Land-rover! One afternoon we did a canoe trip on a tributary of the Zambezi river and our guides very safely directed us to the edge and waited until a herd of elephants crossed in front of us! Also saw hippos!
The camp is right on the river so we woke to seeing hippos, warthogs, Buffalo - fantastic!

I recently had the opportunity to visit Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia, and it was an absolutely breathtaking experience. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, hippos, crocodiles, and many different types of birds. The scenery is also amazing, with lush green forests and beautiful rivers. The park is perfect for safari activities such as game drives, boat rides and walking safari, which allowed me to see the wildlife up close and personal. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly, and they made the experience even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend Lower Zambezi National Park to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable safari experience.

We were in Lower Zambezi national Park for three nights and the game drives and boat cruises were outstanding. We were excited to be able to do night drives, something that many of the national parks in Africa do not offer/allow. And the sights that we saw along the river via boats were exceptional Definitely, this is a national park that we'd return to again and again.

When I agreed to join our party on a trip canoeing down the Lower Zambezi, I hadn't really thought about how scared I would be. Never having canoed before, seeing all the luggage we had to transport, looking at the choppy river, and knowing we had to steer around hippos regularly did not help my anxiety at set off. But the calm encouragement from our tour guide TK, and my gradual building of confidence helped me stay the distance, and complete a very rewarding trip for three days, travelling down the river amidst wildlife, in the sunshine, camping out under the stars of the southern skies. The peace and tranquility was blissful, the organisation and care on the tour second to none, and sleeping on the sandbanks after eating under the stars was amazing. Animals not so abundant (except for the hippos and crocs which were all around) with them having had good rains last season, but to make up for this our guide took us for an impromptu walk in Death Valley, Manna Pools NP where we saw plenty of game. Excellent trip, an experience of a lifetime.

What a place this is, so remote and difficult to get to but once you are there, WOW. The less people, the better is rule number one in doing safaris.

This park is so vast and we were able to see so many different species of wildlife. Our stay was short and I would like to go back for longer next time!

I went there for a work trip and it was exciting. While working managed to to view some hippos, Elephants, crocodiles and Baboons. Climbed up the Escarpment which was exciting yet tiring because of that tedious 6 km climb up the mountain peak with the help of Park Rangers. The climb down was equally exciting and less tiring. The views are fantastic and breathtaking, enjoying the wild life and the peaceful sound of the ever flowing Zambezi river.
