My wife and I used Crystal Safaris to book our unforgettable three-week trip to Uganda for our honeymoon in July 2023. We had a fantastic experience from start to finish - Barbara helped to design the perfect trip and accommodated all of our requests from tailoring the itinerary to booking and payment.
Harryson Kiganda was an exceptional guide - he knows every corner of Uganda so he was able to show us hidden gems and gave us the best chance of seeing wildlife. He was extremely attentive to our needs and completely reliable.
The whole trip ran like clockwork with all permits, bookings and lodges arranged well in advance.
I would highly recommend Crystal Safaris (and the lodges which they run in Kibale and Bwindi) to anyone thining of visiting Uganda.

We had a great holiday in Uganda and I wanted to thank you for organizing this trip.
Everything went very well and we had a great driver. Remmy was very pleasant, very calm and available.
He knows the wildlife very well and allowed us to see many animals. he was also a very careful driver which is very welcome.
We enjoyed all of our accommodations the one we liked the most was the Crater Safari Lodge. We also liked the rwakobo rock.
I will give a special mension to the Hoima cultural lodge which has a beautiful garden and whose atmosphere seemed authentic and very African.
The accommodation that we least appreciated was the Enganzi lodge where the welcome was less pleasant than in all the other lodges and which has a lot of stairs and very slippery, which is dangerous. Otherwise our room was very good.
All the parks were wonderful we saw a lot of animals and also took a lot of photos !
We also enjoyed the stroll on the Kazinga Channel, the walk along Murchinson Falls and the visit to Bigodi which was very interesting.
A big THANK Barbara for this trip!

Just returned from a 6 day gorilla, Queen Elizabeth Park, and chimpanzee trek that was beyond our expectations. Barbara skillfully and perfectly organized and booked the trip we had asked for. Gorilla Safari Lodge was excellent with a terrific staff, Ishasha was amazing, and Crater Safari Lodge a vision of beautiful African elegance, with a dear sweet staff. Joseph was an amazing guide, great communicator, driver and animal tracker. He advocated for us at each Trek and we felt very well taken care. He goes above and beyond to ensure a great experience which we definitely enjoyed. I highly recommend Crystal Safaris to anyone considering a Ugandan safari.

we packed into 6 nights / 7 days chimpanzee and gorilla trekking.
with hindsight we should have gone for longer and spread more as lots of driving (be aware roads not like Europe) but limited by school holidays
Crystal excellent. Barbara v responsive on emails and whatsapps. Edward the tour guide in country became part of the family and was excellent. Skilled driver and kind person. Thank you Edward!
Chimp trekking was easy hiking. Gorilla trekking was tough but amazing. It was trekking through a forest - you need to hire the local porters.
Crater and Gorilla lodges owned by Crystal very good. Mweya lodge beautiful location (not owned by crystal) and not up to same standard but as only one night was fine. The river trip from Mweya was amazing. Mihingo lodge really special for the last night and highly highly recommend.
Food good. Try the local waragi and beer - both excellent
All in all a full on week for a family with 2 children - 18 and 14. The trekking was the highlight with amazing photos. Thank you to Edward for all his help.

Jospeh, our safari guide and driver was absolutely amazing
Very professional, very careful, knowledgeable, good driver, and friendly
But the car was very and not well maintained even though it was a Land Rover
Security belts were broken as well as other things to hold on the road
Also the seats were very uncomfortable
Other than that, the day of our departure, we had to wait for the boss of the company 3 hours on a parking that was very disrespectful and then we also had some issues with them

We did a tour of Uganda with the chimpanzee - and gorilla trekking. We booked through the Dutch organization Mambulu who work together with Crystal Safaris.
Everything was perfectly arranged.
A journey we will never forget.
Our guide Harrison Kigandi was one in a thousand.
He gave an extra dimension to our journey.
We visited several lodges including two from Crystal safaris, Crater Safari Lodge and Gorilla Safari Lodge. All the lodges we visited were beautiful but the staff of Crystal Safaris were the best. Highly recommended.

I just came back for a 23 days trip, is the second time that I use this company and I will use it again for sure! I believe 80 % of a tour is based in quality of the guides and 20% in office organization, quality of cars, etc !! Well ... 100% accomplished! Communication with Barbara excelente, car excelente and of course our guide ( now great friend ) Joseph was just unbelievable... he is the most responsible person I ever met, he will be first looking for security in every aspect without letting you know, but also he is fun, has a lot of knowledge to share if you are interested in real Africa, he has an incredible heart, he will always be looking to support local people arround...and most important he will make sure all your dreams come true !! We saw river crossings, leopards, flamingos, lions, jirafas, and infinity of great things while we travel true Tanzania and Kenia ! Thanks Barbara and Joseph for make this trip possible!
Strongly recommend this company and you should request for joshep as your guide, you will not be disappointed at all !

We just returned from our 3 days Gorilla Trek. The first day consisted of traveling from Kigali, Rwanda to Uganda. We stayed at the Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge (The Gorilla Safari Lodge was booked during our stay) which we absolutely loved! Excellent, warm and friendly service and delicious meals! The lodge was cute, clean and calm/peace inducing. The second day we trekked out to Bwindi Forest for the Gorillas! Priceless and magical experience being so close to those beautiful creatures. Third day was our departure day - we were transported back to Kigali for our flight to our next adventure.
Our tour guide was Hannington who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in answering our questions. Barbara who handled our correspondence and our accommodations was also very helpful. My sister's luggage was lost and she pulled all her strings to help out. She definitely went above and beyond the call of duty.
Overall we had an excellent and memorable trip. I miss the humble and warm people I met during our short stay. Highly recommend this tour group! I am going to look at their safari tours for the future!

I just came back from 9 days/7nights Best Of Uganda trip organized by Crystal Safaris. Barbara who made my reservations was easy to work with and she put together for us the trip that highlighted best of Uganda. We were Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park, had a land and Kazinga Channel water safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park and highlight of the trip was Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Everything worked out without a hitch. Our guide/driver Joseph was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and going out of his way to makes us happy.
We stayed in 2 of Crystal Safari Lodges and were very happy with both. Staff everywhere was extremely friendly and eager to please.
I would recommend Crystal Safaris to anyone looking for headache free trip to Uganda.

Happy with our experience of Crystal Safaris - their lodges were rustic rather than luxurious but the service and food were very good and locations and settings were excellent. Our guide Joseph was friendly and knowledgable and we enjoyed his company.
