Hopefully you will have a good guide who can tell you what you are seeing. Choose a few to really get to know, there is far too muc to remember, unless you have a background in African Art.

This small museum is located on the back side of the Palais de Congrès which faces the Monument de l’Independance. If you are facing the Palais, go to the right end of the building, go behind, continue walking along the rear of the building and...More

I almost regret going to the national museum, it is very small with few interesting items, photography isn't allowed, there was no guide to help us, and everyone in Lome (including the museum staff) are nice but can only speak French.

This is a small national museum which was surprisingly informative about Togo's history, especially during its colonial periods. It was particularly interesting to learn the timing of when slavery ended in the Caribbean vis-a-vis the United States. Worth an hour to wander around!

It's just a two chamber Musium. A lot of information about the history, culture , music etc. Everything in the musium is mention only in French,.. I love the the African piano and shisha people use to smoke. They were very good.

We arrived without an English guide but were lucky that the French guides wanted to try out their English. They put a lot of effort into the tour and we were very grateful. Some exhibits were a little tired but you get a good overview...More

This two-room museum is an somewhat odd but endearing pairing two very different times in Togolese history -- prehistory and the Colonial years. An insightful snapshot of the history of Togoland and the German occupation, this museum has a few but important exhibits of a...More
