These folks are super-friendly and happy to show you their art. While the grounds could really use some tending, a visitor just has to look past that to appreciate the paintings, etc.

The market has a wide variety of masks, carvings, jewelry, and fabrics, many of which are very unique. The selection of many of the crafts is more extensive than elsewhere in Dakar. Prices can be a little high to start, but if you negotiate well,...More

Amazing place where you will find real artists painting. No hassle. No hard sellers. To the contrary none lf them would adress you unless you do. Sadly this place is being confused by some reviewers with Village Artisanal which really is unfair as the latter...More

We went as part of a tour group and it was so disappointing. Only about a third of the studios were open and most of the items were far too large for any traveller to take home. Perhaps it works for those who live locally...More

More like a sleepy Art & Crafts compound. A few places were creating their own arts while others seem like mass production. Prices seem ok.

I was expecting more original pieces at this place. I found only two places where artists were creating original pieces otherwise most of the artists were re-creating the same pieces over and over again. It is also a test of nerves to get through here...More

The place is full of mass-produced items. But the quality is not bad and if the vendors actually let you browse in peace, you will find unique items (I did). It is just a hassle to look and explore without being harassed. Also, the initial...More
