The Lago Rose (Pink Lake) has quite an interesting analogy for every humanitarian of how the joyful pinky color, especially during the right time of the day, may be combined with the misery of others getting really tough time making their living in highly salted...More

We learned a lot here and got to see the surrounding area. This was our first encounter with vendors. They drive a hard bargain!

It's unfortunate that I came during the rainy season and the lake was not pink at this time. I was told by a local that the fresh rain water changes the waters chemistry and that the color will begin to change again in October. I...More

Lake is beautiful. Make sure to visit it in the afternoon, as the colors are not showing up until the sun has done some work. Rent a boat to get close to the salt-miners. Visit the restaurant at the end of the lake to take...More

Interesting place to visit, but not important. It's just an extremely salty lake from which salt is mined in little canoes that may or may not have a pink tone to it when you visit. Like much of Senegal, it's very dirty, with trash strewn...More
