As others have said, this is tucked away but we were lucky that the Moto drivers knew exactly where it was. The site doesn’t need a long visit but it is a very moving place and the bravery of these men shines bright amidst the...More

Nothing much to see there except for a bullet riddled wall and arches with names of the Belgian peacekeepers. If you are in the city however its fitting to go there an pay tribute to these brave men who laid their lives trying to protect...More

The location is increasingly becoming hard to find due to development around the area. It is a pretty moving reminder and memorial to the Belgian UN peacekeepers and victims of the genocide.

Really tasteful monument to the 10 slain Belgian UN troops. The building in which they were killed is half devoted to their last hours. The bullet holes are sobering. The other half to genocide in both the abstract and specific.

These places are always hard to be in. The bullet holes are untouched. The chalkboard bears notes from the families of the dead. There is a walk through a history of genocide in Rwanda and advertisements used to mark milestones. We must remember so that...More

This modest and sober memorial sits in the Kiyovu diplomatic and commercial district. The memorial to the 10 Belgian soldiers and the building in which they were killed are modest, but they powerfully honor the sacrifices made by both the soldiers themselves and those killed...More

Once inside you can almost relive the terrifying experiences of these soldiers - harrowing to get this close to the action.

There are different stories on how these 10 Belgian Peacekeepers were killed, but seeing this place tells you enough how much anger the people had at that time. All my condolences to their families and hope that this country won't repeat genocide and massacre again...More
