This museum has many Impressionist paintings collected by the same man who collected the big names you've heard of. These artists are lesser-known, but to my eye matched the quality and methods of the well-known Impressionists. I guess relative fame was sorted out later.

Housed in a restored Creole house, this museum has a number of interesting paintings by local artists. The paintings are of various subjects (local and foreign) and displayed beautifully. It doesn't take long to wander through. More placards and explanations would have been helpful.
