Visitors expecting western-standards for zoos and museums will be disappointed, but the exhibits give a great peak into Nigerien culture and history. The fossils that have been found in the desert are remarkable, and the exhibit on traditional musical instruments is very interesting.

The museums consist of several pavilions each hosting a small exhibit (art, uranium, traditional customs, weapons...) as well as a small zoo. It is opposite the Hotel Gaweye, and is easily accessible... Staff was very helpful, and this is certainly the main site in Niamey!

It was one of the best experiences in My life. It was a great time for memorable experiences that I think the whole family will enjoy (I didn't really get to go. I had to dog sit. My family went though)
