Here, one can appreciate a bit of a pause among city life. The layout of the Tunduru Gardens is quite lovely. It was fun to identify different trees, including Almond Trees, Flame Trees and Frangipani Trees. Fortunately for me, I visited when the frangipani were...More

You might think this just another park. It helps to learn that in 2015 the gardens were revamped and reopened and in my view are glorious. There are some amazing historic trees. And listen for and look at the bats! They were very lively at...More

A small park rather than botanical garden, with little to see, not really worth the trouble to spend much time here.

A surprisingly lovely garden whose benches and large shade trees offer a nice respite from the streets of Maputo. A wedding was taking place during our visit.

We were amazed at the quality of the botanical gardens. Lots of weddings underway on the Saturday we visited. So crowded! Great to see the families all together. Could not tell if these were ceremonies or for photos before/after the weddings.

Tunduru Gardens reopened in 2015 after falling into disrepair. It is a peaceful walk through the city. Although $3.5 million has been spent, there is still much work to do. Disappointing was the lack of labels on the trees and plants as expected in a...More

I remember my first visit in Maputo back in 2000, this park was a no-go zone inhabited by dubious characters. Now after a year or more of renovations, it has finally been rehabilitated and reopened. It's such a nice place to stroll around, and you...More
