This little gem of a museum - and it is quite small - is really worth a visit. I came out with a greatly enhanced understanding of the history of this very interesting island because although I'd already read about it, it didn't sink in...More

As part of a tour, my husband & I were given tickets to get us into the stamp museum (usually 150 rupees per person). Our guide, Sonny, said it should take about 30 - 45 mins to view the museum. As I am not a...More

This very interesting museum fronts an attractive shopping area with eateries and coffee bars. There is a lot of building work going on at the moment which will result in this area having even more amenities.

Of course we were there to see the famous two. But it's more to the museum than only the stamps. It tells the history of Mauritius too, so worth to take the time and see rest of the museum too.

In addition to the stamps, the museum also presents the history of the island. Some old maps, photos and engravings. Same stamps, which are the main attraction of the museum, poorly exposed.

Travel book recommended going to this museum but it wasn’t that interesting. I’d skip. A 5 minute walk away is the Aapravasi ghat which is much more interesting and free! It tells you the history of the arrival of the first paid workforce after slavery...More

Visited as part of a day trip, Exotic North, through TUI at our hotel. Museum allows no photographs. Exhibition upstairs about the evolution of stamps and downstairs it's about the evolution of Mauritius through the invasions. A one off trip

It‘s a nice and tiny museum. If you are in Port Louis visit it. But actually not that special we thought.

Did not find this worthwhile. Was rather small, although I appreciate the history for me personally I would have rate spent more time exploring the Central Market rather than the museum.
