Nothing much to see here. Most cages have peacocks or ducks in them. The animals seem to be in a bad condition.

Anxious to see some lemurs and native vegetation, I came to the zoo and botanical garden. I have been to nicer zoos and certainly more detailed botanical gardens, but hey, welcome to Madagascar! I stayed for several hours, wandered thru the area, then went to...More

The grounds are nice, and it was good to see families enjoying a day out, but the mesh was small, the animals didn’t have much space. Go to the Lemur Park rather. Guide was good but expensive by Tana standards or maybe I just was...More

Despite your concerns, reservations and issues with zoos, this gives you an opportunity to see some of Madagascar's most amazing fauna, flora and animals you would have a challenging time to see in a limited time period otherwise. The largest bonus were being able to...More

You should definitely get a guide to show you round the zoo. One advantage was I got to go behind the scenes and hand feed honey to the lemurs, amazing! There is a lovely layout which includes a series of burial tombs from each part...More
