The burned out palace sits in the top spot overlooking all of Antananarivo. The palace and royal compound are much larger than I expected. It is a great pity that this complex was so badly damaged in the fire. Even so, it is still an...More

I've read a lot of complaints regarding this visit. Now there are some fixed prices written on arrival. So it shouldn't be a problem. 10000 ar/ per head and 20000 for an obligatory guide. Our guide wasn't really fluent in English but with a mix...More

Foreigners pay more than locals and it is compulsory to have a guide. It’s nice having a guide to explain the history of the Palace but be warned, their English is very basic.

The views are excellent. Everything else is hit or miss depending on luck and we appear to have missed. Our guide couldn't give the tour so we had to hire inside the attraction. The choice was between Ziggy Marley and Bob Dylan. Not sure how...More
