A museum surrounded by a wide and large green park with statues and fountains. Place to learn of Nkrumah's life & legacy.

Solemn Disregarded Pan African Ambitions
Jul 2021 • Solo
Pretty tired and unkempt park reflecting diminished regard for Nkruma an other Pan Africanists over the past 50 years. Nonetheless the park is a solemn place for reflection of those original ambitions and Hope's- particularly the photos in the museum and the lonely grave.

Where is water?
Oct 2020
Enough people left their reviews here, so whatever I say, I can probably only repeat what someone else must’ve already said before. The only thing I may point out is the fact that I first visited this park in 2011. This year was my second visit. Back then, the fountains were working and the basin was full of water. This year, they were out of function and the basin was dry. If it was merely a temporary maintenance, then it’s fine. However, in Africa one can never know. It would be sad if it was a case of a more permanent neglect. When there is water, entire memorial looks much better.

Interesting Short Stop
Sep 2019
Interesting location to visit. We went as part of a larger tour day and definitely enjoyed our time here. It shows both personal and national history with some interesting artifacts inside. Nice grounds/park to wonder outside as well. Not much of a gift shop, but be careful of the vendors standing outside. They'll take your name and create souvenirs for your with your name on them, trying to guilt you into buying them.

Poor organization for a national museum
Apr 2019 • Family
This location is open all week long and it’s easy to get in. However there is no one to welcome you when you walk in and there are no guides. You may walk by a gentleman or two as you walk through the place but they offer absolutely no help. I have heard that lighter skinned people and blacks with English/ American accents are treated differently but I haven’t confirmed this for myself.

My initial visit was with an organized school group 16 years ago and it was the only time I experienced a guide there, perhaps because arrangements were made or there was better service at the time. The experience from my last two visits which were about 5 years apart is what I have recounted here. Friends and family have had similar experiences.

As a museum designated to the first president of Ghana who is such an iconic figure, the organization at this place certainly needs to step up.

Worth the trip
Mar 2020
Very interesting, important history, with knowledgeable guides, this memorial park is more of a small museum than a park. Plan two hours. Learn and understand. It’s quite moving when one learns about the bravery and resourcefulness of pan-African leadership in the middle of last century. Onward and upward.... always forward.

Kwame Nkrumah park
Dec 2019 • Couples
This park is named after one of the founding members of pan Africanism. It is in a fair condition except for the ablution facilities which are in dire need of repairs. The museum is in the park and the guide is quite knowledgeable. About the mausoleum , I came to the conclusion that Ghanaians have a like for them.
