Gaborone of Botswana, the capital, is situated in the southeast of the country and is at the forefront of education, sport and culture. Just 10km southwest of the Gaborone Sun Hotel is the privately operated, 3000 ha Mokolodi Nature Reserve, where visitors can go on guided game walks amongst the beautiful natural scenery, sharing the same soil with elephant, cheetah and antelope.

A most fortunate Tour was had on a pleasant April afternoon. The driver and guide was first class and was able to spot various animals long before the tourists. We saw zebras, ostriches, impala and best of all a giraffe (closeup). All in all a...More

We were in Gaborone on a business trip and wanted to see some wildlife; a taxi to Mokolodi was about 45 minutes. The power had been out at Mokolodi for a couple of days because of storms and so our reservation confirmation hadn't been received,...More

Mokolodi Game Reserve is conveniently close to airport - 30 min outside of traffic. The game rangers are excellent and the views from the chalets are fantastic. It's probably better for a family getaway than a couples getaway as many activities require minimum 4-6 people...More

We were staying at Mokoldi house --separate review--this is just up the road and a good find. Great park--good game drives--Excellent restaurant which gives you the best despite the constant power cuts. A 4 wheel drive is advisable but not essential.

we spent one night in a cottage at the reserve and found it comfortable and clean. unfortunately the road is very rocky and even with a 4x4 on needs to travel carefully. the cottages are 3,4km from the restaurant which I think is too far.
