    Absolutely wonderful
I don't know about the previous review but you DO NOT ride elephants at this sanctuary. The elephant family here have been either abused or for whatever reason cannot live in the wild and the sanctuary looks after them for the rest of their lives. The guides take you out into the bush and you walk with the elephants, you can touch them and then feed them. It was a lovely experience to see them up close and know that they are totally looked after.

    Engaged staff...incredible elephants!
Incredible experience interacting with two different elephants at the sanctuary. We were picked up exactly on time from out lodge and taken to the sanctuary. We were given a short safety brief and then directly to where the elephants were coming in. We learned a significant amount about the African elephants from the keepers while we touched them, and photos were taken. We were next to the elephants for 30-45 minutes and have some incredible photos. We would definitely do this experience again and applaud the work of the sanctuary.

    Absolutely a MUST! 🐘
Most wonderful experience ever! We did the morning excursion which was $90 per person. They gave us plenty of treats to feed the elephants and the price also included photos with the elephants! This was truly an unforgettable experience and I most highly recommend!

love elephants was the highlight of our trip
I can't really expand on the other raving reviews, but this was the highlight of our 3 week trip to Africa. To be able to spend an afternoon with these wonderful animals is beyond magical for the entire family. The kids were able to get behind their ears and rub the ears and bodies, hug their trunks, walk with them as they fed, and then feed them treats. It is truly remarkable what they can do with their trunks, even suck up the food and blow it into their mouths. It is a reserve for abused animals that are given the a secure place to spend the night but free in the day. Eventually they stop coming back to the safe spot and are soft released to the large sanctuary. There was some confusion about getting the video but when I wrote they immediately got me the photos and video of the family - it has been shared with a great many very jealous friends.

    Kind and caring Elephant Sanctuary
This was an experience of a lifetime! We were able to walk with the elephants, feed them, touch them and I even hugged one of them (their leg that is). I do not want to support a place where they allow you to ride the elephants....and this place does not. Lots of good information was provided throughout our adventure. It is 100% privately funded, so even though it was expensive, I feel it went to a wonderful cause.

Be part of an elephant herd
Just Wow! I've done elephant experiences in other places and was never allowed to actually touch the elephant, just hand them a cabbage from behind a barrier. This was amazing walking out in the Zambezi National Park with a family of elephants. The protectors that were out with the group were very informative and had a great relationship with these beautiful animals. We were able to feel their ears, legs, tusks, trunks and have a connection. After we walked with the herd to a boma we were able to give them some elephant treats. It was AMAZING. There was a photographer along with us and he took amazing photos that we could purchase after as well as a video. I was so appreciative to all of the protectors for keeping us safe from the warthogs that wanted the elephant cookies. "Trunk up" was a request the elephants loved. If in the area don't miss this opportunity.

    Walk with giants
What majestic animals, and the gentlemen that monitor them, really do care for them. Small group activity, where you get to walk with and touch the elephants. They are protected in a sanctuary and have been rescued or relocated from other sanctuaries. I felt safe at all times and really enjoyed the morning. Snacks and drinks were provided afterwards, as was transport to and from the sanctuary.

    Amazing Experience!
My wife and I booked this excursion during our stay at Victoria Falls, as elephants are her favorite animal, and we are so glad that we did. This was truly one of the highlights of our stay there. After seeing dozens of elephants during our safaris in Kruger National Park, to interact with and walk with these magnificent creatures was such an amazing experience, especially for my wife. The staff were very knowledgeable and kind, and you could tell they truly care about these animals.

    Fun Afternoon with the Elephants
My daughter and I did this visit as part of a planned itinerary by our travel guide (Ntaba). We were picked up at our Victoria Falls lodge by Wild Horizons and transported to the sanctuary. Upon arrival we were briefed and an additional participant joined us. We loaded into jeeps and went out into the bush where the elephants were last spotted. We found them browsing on leaves and small tree branches and were able to walk and interact with them. I will never forget the feel of their skin...the textures of their ears, trunk and legs were so unique. These were definitely gentle giants. The guides were informative and able to answer all our questions. With only three guests in our group we definitely received very personalized attention. Toward the end of the visit we fed them some elephant pellets--either trunk up or trunk down... when we were out of pellets the elephants wandered around a bit and then simply walked on their merry way. After returning to the main building we were provided snacks and had the opportunity to ask questions. Overall it was a fun personalized experience. I did purchase the video and picture package and was glad I did. The quality of the video was really good and definitely captured our visit. There was NO indication from our visit that elephant rides are taking place. The elephants all looked very healthy and were given the opportunity to interact with us or simply walk away.

My family and I visited the Elephant Sanctuary and what an unforgettable experience it was. The guides were very informative and passionate from the get go and the whole experience was just delightful. Getting that close to these wonderful animals was unforgettable. The whole environment was calm yet exciting and we are so glad we got to experience it. Highly recommend visiting the Sanctuary as our family(of 5 adults) just loved it.

I can't really understand all the positive reviews unless you've never seen elephants before. We expected a lot more, the walk with the elephants only takes about 10 minutes and feeding them also takes about 10 minutes. Then you are taken by car to a restaurant with the usual souvenir shop - all for €130 per person. Yes, it's an experience to be so close to the elephants, but I don't think it's worth the price.

We visited the Elephant Sanctuary in March 2022. The experience was amazing. The elephants magnificent. The staff at the sanctuary were very knowledgeable, kind and safety conscious. My only complaint is with management. We were booked/paid for the Elephant Encounter. Due to a mix up in picking us up that morning, we missed the Elephant Encounter and instead were placed in the Elephant Experience by default. I am still waiting on my partial refund and have had no correspondence from management in nearly three weeks now. I am hoping our experience with management is the exception and not the rule. If you are looking for an exceptional experience with meeting elephants and compassionate and knowledgeable keepers, I would highly recommend Wild Horizons.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. Elephants are my favorite animals and I could not wait for the encounter. It was better than I imagined. The staff that walks with you is very knowledgeable of the animals and can tell they have a relationship with the animals. The animals are beautiful and very well cared for. They drive you out to the bush where you walk to where the elephants are. When you get their they will tell you about each elephant, get to pet them and take pictures with them, go for a short walk with them and then feed them.

I would have liked the interaction to be longer but also could have spent all day just walking with them and watching them in their natural habitat.

Loved the interaction with the elephants. So fun to touch them, and realize they don't feel as you think they do when seeing them at a distance. But feeding them was the best: whether as a vacuum, from the top or throwing it into their mouths. Each had a different preference in terms of how to be fed. Our only disappointment was not seeing a baby, as they rotate the herds and the day we could attend was not the day for the babies. Oh well, next time. And the staff were so friendly-and so so knowledgeable. If you love elephants in the wild, you should definitely visit the sanctuary.

The guides and staff were very professional and accommodating. They were also so kind to these beautiful creatures. It was so great to get up close to them and also watch them interact together. Our walk with the Elephants was definitely a highlight of our trip. If I had something to complain about it would be that it isn't long enough. I could have sat with these elephants all day. The photographers did a great job capturing this unique activity through photos and a video. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience. I would highly recommend it!!!

One of my great and favorite moments of the year 2023 so far was spending time with the big guys and girls. It was a wonderful experience. The drive to where there elephants were was lovely. The guides were top notch and feeding the elephants their favorite treats was the best. Definitely recommending this to my friends and will surely come back again. Five star experience.
