Visited this UNESCO World Heritage site on the morning of Dec-26, 2024.
The entrance/exit to this park has locals singing & dancing to entertain guests & the spray / mist & sound of the falls can also be heard even before entering through the turnstiles.
A map of the rainforest detailing the various numbered attractions (like view points, sub falls, statues etc) provides guidance & then we embarked upon our exploration.
We also saw white water rafting from atop one of the viewpoints & finally hiked our way to the bridge that connects Zambia & Zimbabwe.
Some places like the lower levels may be too wet & slippery so walk slowly & surely & take a poncho too!

The 5-star rating is only available for the falls themselves. The national park could be refreshed a bit. Toilets are borderline. The US$50 entrance fee is an outrage. The staff at the tills are unfriendly, super bored and have no fun on the job. But this is no different from official bodies in Zimbabwe.
A guide (for an additional US$25) can be saved. The paths are signposted. The whole tour takes about 2 hours.
Nevertheless, a visit is definitely worthwhile. Arrive early in the morning, preferably at 6:00 a.m. The air is clear, the light is best, you have a spectacular sunrise, and for the first two hours you are probably the only one in the park.
The “Rainforest Cafe” offers breakfast, burgers and salads at acceptable prices.

I got there just after opening time (6am) and enjoyed having just about the whole park to myself.
One issue is that only a few of the toilet doors had locks that worked. When International visitors are paying 50USD ($75 AUD) entry you would think it wouldn't be unreasonable to spend some of those dollars on fixing the locks. The cleaning staff were doing a great job keeping the bathrooms clean and I'm sure they would appreciate functioning locks too.
There is wifi at the cafe.

It was an awesome experience to witness one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the flow was spectacular and the views are from different points aptly named. We hired the services of an official guide, who took us for the round the trip trek, moderate and not tough. The guide explained to us the significance and historical perspective of the falls, the statue of Livingston is a shining example of adventure and discovery. The walk all along the gorge and amazing panoramic views are the most beautiful moments that we enjoyed thoroughly. There is an entrance ticket and extra charges for the guide. It's advisable to wear a cap and carry a bottle of water.

An awesome, inspiring experience that will overwhelm even the seasoned traveller. I had high expectations, however, didn't expect to be blown away.
A visit should take about two hours with several viewing areas along the way for the all important pictures.
Nobody seems to be disappointed with the falls themselves, however $50USD is a bit steep. That said, the parks department know they have a captive audience. It's the reason you are there. Still, a great experience.

The walk along the park's ridge is gorgeous with some views of the magnificent waterfalls. We went in the morning at 8 and we took a walk practically alone being able to admire the falls in peace. At 10 o'clock, the tours started coming.

The waterfalls are impressive, amazing... water, rainbows of different sizes and brightness.
A spectacle of nature that must be witnessed.
However… I have one criticism of the entrance staff. I asked for a map of the park, both the money clerk and the people at the cash register first stalled, then talked to each other and laughed behind my back, finally they gave me a brochure, asking me to pay 1 usd … a brochure that in Italy no one would have charged for!!
This is not how foreign people who arrive, pay and try to be polite and respectful of culture, place and nature should be treated.

The wonders of nature one of the best, just because it's so expensive to go in here $50 on the Zimbabwe side, I only give four out of five, but just because you can spend the whole day watching the rainbows change place from morning to night for a whopping $50. Also, it only costs 10$ on the Zambia side and I liked the Zambia side more because there you can walk above the falls and below to bowling point with the Chimpanzees, and get on a nicely fixed bridge in the pouring rain. So on the Zambian side much more to do though it is shorter there.

In October there was not a lot of water so the were not the spectacular falls I was thinking I would view but it was nice enough and there were birds about. Think the US $50 entry fee was a bit steep. Lots of walkways and viewing points. The entrance was crowded but once we were in it didn't feel that way. Cafe and toilets available.

It was a rainy day when I visited the falls. Albeit it was rainy, this was still a perfect day for me. Just hearing the rush of the water from the falls, was truly enjoyable. I made sure I hit all 16 spots and took lots of photos. People visiting this place should take their time, feeling how strong the falls is, the scent and magnificent this is. No wonder it’s one of the wonders of the world. Truly a place to visit in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼.

Please tell me how to book a waterfall full moon tour. Can I join by reservation on the day or the day before? How should I make a reservation? Where is my reservation?

Is it recommended to get a tour of the falls- or just wander around yourself?
Written 25 January 2019
We went with family and had no problems at all. You have to pay to get in anyway, so I would not pay even more for a guide. Opposite the entrance are some souvenir stalls - spend your money there instead!

Hoping to explore Victoria Falls and Okavango area by vehicle in Feb 2019. Does the rain seriously interfere with travel in Feb? How are the roads then - hope to drive from Maun to Katima Mulilo.
Written 22 September 2018
I personally have not driven, used shuttle services, but I have colleagues who regularly do road trips between Botswana and Vic Falls in a small sedan. They say the roads are fine, though am not sure of rainy seasons.

I was injured while on our trip (this past March) and had to see Victoria Falls in a wheel chair. It was NOT easy. The paved path (flagstones, mostly) is rough, narrow, and very steep in places. There are frequent steps, too, although they are not high steps and there are usually no more than 3 or 4 steps at a time. What we did, at the advice of our hotel, was to hire a burly young man to push my wheel chair. He was great! He and my husband were able to get me everywhere I needed to go. And it was SO worth the money. The falls were spectacular!

Hi there. ill be back in Livingstone in March. Are there any game drives from the area please?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Sheffield.
Yes many game drives around Livingstone. Never the less you can try coming to Zimbabwe side where you can try one of our leading private game reserve in Victoria Falls town. The chances of you seeing the big 5 here are at list available.
Zim side also provides with the largest National Park in Zimbabwe on a 2 hrs drive from Victoria Falls town with varieties of game parks suitable for game drives and or camping. Good campsites available for you.
Not forgeting about the Zambezi National Park along the magestic Zambezi river where a game drive conducted in the park is a true enthusiatic game of challenge to see more game. Plenty of game but with thick vegitaion making more a sport to locate some game.
Chobe National Park in Botswana becomes another alternative though depending with your vissa applications. Recommendations on Chobe trips are always good and pleasing.
Looking down to see you in March for activities to add up to this.
