I took a group of Family and Friends to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe February 2020. This trip was coordinated for over a year with Tendai Maganga who works for Shearwater.
Tendai assisted me with hotel reservations, all of the tours and was an excellent coordinator. Each of the tours recommended were most exciting and very enjoyable.
The tour guides she chose for us were well prepared and provided us with all of the information required to learn about the Continent as well as how to get the most enjoyment from each event.
Each member of my party expressed high regard for Tendai and her overall professionalism and enthusiastic interactions with us.
I recommend Tendai, if you have need of an excellent person to help you coordinate your visit.

We booked some trips through VictoriaFallsguide.net and they in turn facilitated the various bookings with the different providers, who of which were with Shearwater: the 12-13min Flight of Angels over the falls.
It was my first time in a helicopter, so the anticipation was chronic, the nerves were shot, but I was so excited at the prospects of seeing the falls from the air.
These guys didn't disappoint. From the moment we were picked up from our lodge to the minute we were dropped off again, their service was impeccable, they were on time, well organised and super friendly.
The ride itself is only a few minutes, although you are given the option to upgrade to longer flights at discounted rates.
For a once in a lifetime experience, I would highly recommend a flight over the falls. You are afforded the most spectacular views of not only the surrounding area, the river, but you see the falls from a totally different perspective and can then truly take in the grandeur of one of the world's top 3 waterfalls.
Will most certainly book with these guys again when next in Victoria Falls.
Anyone considering booking a tour through them can rest assured, their service and attention to detail is impeccable!

On a side note, if you do find Victoria Falls Guides.net on the web and want to book tours through them, go right ahead, it takes the pain out of trying to do individual bookings, and their organisation is seamless, co-ordinating everything with the individual tour operators for you.
Not one of the tour operators we were booked with were late in collecting us or dropping us off at our lodge. Most of them will pick you up at your lodge and have you safely back there after the tour.

Thank you to Mr Tim, our driver on the Zambia side who helped us cross the border both ways. He was so nice and without him we would've completely lost in "no man's land".
Thank you to Mr Smart for a very lovely guided tour of the falls on the Zimbabwe side. Solid guide and genuinely great person, full of historical and ecological info. On this side, we highly recommend having a guide; it's a 1.7 km walk from end-to-end so a guide will help you not waste time.
And special thanks to Mr Lucky for helping coordinate all of our vic falls activities. Amazing to work with him, so nice, and made everything easy.
Highly recommend using these guys for all of your vic falls activities.

Unbelievable helicopter trip with astounding veiws something that just has to be done. All at a very reasonable price. The stunning landscape is something to behold and takes your breath away. I can thoroughly recommend Shearwater helicopter trips and they are also very professional.

Still waiting for refund from trip in Africa. Cancelled after they raised price and had to look elsewhere and re-organize last minute. They said they would refund October 4 and 3 months and 2 reminders later never happened.

We booked our activities at Vic Falls through Shearwater including a guide at the falls, a helicopter trip and a luxury cruise on the river. The lady who handled our bookings was Shamiso and she is friendly and efficient. Shearwater's service is excellent; they are punctual, communicate effectively through whatsapp, easy payment, good prices. We had Mehluli as our guide at the Falls and he made it so interesting and enjoyable.

Shearwater are the most ethical/ brilliant one stop provider for everything that the Victoria Falls area has to offer, at very competitive prices.
The staff are amazing, the food and accommodation sublime and the variety of options they have for u to chose from are not only vast but every single experience is amazing.
It’s hard to pick a highlight but a visit to their Through the eyes of an elephant experience is a must do.
Aside from through the eyes of an elephant experience I also did a bush walk, the helicopter flight over the falls, a sundowner boat cruise and the historic bridge tour. Each activity is worthy of 5 stars! But what stands out is Shearwater’s ability to get u where u need to be on time every time with seeming ease.
I can’t say enough about this company and the experience they offer. If/ when traveling to Victoria falls look no further than Shearwater to help u create the trip if a lifetime.

Shearwater is the top excursion based company in Victoria Falls and comes highly recommended! They set me up with three days of amazing experiences including and elephant interaction experience with Elephant Crew, a bungee jump of the bridge that connects Zambia with Zimbabwe, a bridge tour, a wonderful sunset cruise that included seeing hippos, crocs, and other amazing wilderness along with wonderful food and drinks, An evening show called Simunye that was absolutely so well choreographed and such an incredible cultural experience! If you must decide on tour agencies in Victoria Falls, chose Shearwater!

We wanted to complete a walk with lions, chobe full day and white water rafting tour. Usually we like to pick different operators to spread the money around town. Even if this costs slightly more money.
We chose Zhearwatwr for rafting as they looked good online and their website suggests they go for 5km longer than other operators. Importantly, we did this knowing we would pay extra (versus buying a combo from one operator) as Wild Horozons offers combo discounts, some $100pp cheaper than Shearwarer for the activities we wanted.
Shearwater are simply resellers of Wild Horizons as we found on the day of rafting.
The activity itself was fantastic and highly recommended, however do yourself a favour and book directly with Wild Horozin or directly through your hotel. Do NOT book with Shearwater. The rafting activity alone is nearly $30 cheaper with Wild Horozon, and once you book Chobe as well you save nearly $80pp if you avoid Shearwater.
I asked Shearwater to provide the photos of the day (which are zero cost effectively) to settle the score and they said no.
Avoid at all costs!

Shearwater is an absolute disgrace. We made bookings and obviously had to pay upfront, since Zimbabwean companies do not trust their customers. However, we decided to cancel one activity and called their office in Vic Falls. Cancellation accepted, no problem, however the cancellation fess is 100%. I trust that USD100 w3ill really make your shareholders rich.

Contact Shearwater for specifics.... i believe they have a 7a & 2(ish?) trip.... they only do 2 a day. It qa a very special experience- it was a highlight of our trip!! Hope you can make it work.

On April 2019 we ( a family of 6 ) joined an Elephant Back Safari organized by Shearwater Victoria
Falls, which we enjoyed very much. At the end of the ride we bought a footprint of the elephant ( Kariba). We would like to know if the paper on which the footprint was printed is a regular paper or paper made of elephant's manure. Thanks

Not that i know, normally there are two guests and a guide on one elephant. Depending on the anount of guests it might be just one guest and a guide. That should be no problem then. Nevertheless for sitting on and climbing down from the elephants back you need to have a minimum of agility.

Where do these elephants come from? Were they orphans? Born in captivity?

They are rescued- some were babys that had their mothers killed and a few more were rescued during the drought in 2008. It is a special place and they genuinely love these elephants. They guard and protect them fiercely.

Do the animals seem mistreated or do the guides genuinely care for the elephants well being? I would prefer a response from someone who went on the trip it is not part of the business

These are all rescued animals and it is really a very special experience. They are gentle and kind and fiercely protective of them. When they are out in the reserve there is always a guard with them as they no longer can protect themselves in the wild. 7/11 were rescued as babies after the govn't allowed adult elephants to be killed in the late 80's. The other 5 were rescued during a drought. They would have more if they could but can not afford to feed/care for more.

The elephants are genuinely cared for. The guides intimately know them and all interactions with the elephants are with their well being in mind.
