I really love the way they showcase all the things. If you are an art lover you have to go there and enjoy Zimbabwe's contemporary art and visual heritage.

If you want to see some of the best young artists' work coming out of Zimbabwe this is a must. Open to the public, the staff is helpful and exhibitions are changed regularly for maximum exposure and variety. There is an art shop with a great book selection and a coffee shop too.

Stopped by here today and fell in love with how peaceful it was! The art work is top notch and the manager took the time to show us around. If you’re in Harare, stop by!

A library where you can sit for a dollar or two is useful. As is the cafe and the amble behind in the Harare Gardens. But in May 2018, this had an air of refurbishment without all its collections visible, so difficult to put in the range of good or goods.
The sculptures at the building entrance foyer are a stunner of an intro to Shona sculptural tradition.
Call ahead. Hope stock and exhibition improve.
The shop is decent. The cafe is really sweet too.

Always a good place to visit if you enjoy art. Exhibitions vary but are usually interesting. There is a good shop with a variety of art and craft for sale. There is also a lovely sculpture part in the gardens out the back. The café has just been revived and has great potential not yet realized. On first day was assisted by a very helpful woman and had lovely fruit juice and sandwich (sadly most of menu not available); next day no one was around to offer service although it was lunch time and I was told someone was supposed to be there (yes, I suppose it was a Monday when the main part of the gallery is closed, and I gather there was someone standing in to do the service....or not) but it was a pity. Hopefully as tourism improves again the café can reach its potential. The gallery only costs a dollar admission, a dollar very well spent.

Checking out local art is a great way to gain insight about a new or foreign culture and this museum provides just that. Most of the artworks feature an excerpt from the artist. The location is relatively accessible for folks with physical disabilities. Worth checking out if you're in Harare.

I visited the gallery between exhibitions. Even then, I found enough to see for an hour or so. It was a pleasant introduction to the country's art. The gallery has a gift shop with some nice things for sale--bought a gorgeous stone bowl--prices were reasonable. There is a popular cafe and a public green space well used by the locals.
