River crossing
Sep 2019
We were lucky enough to see 2 river crossing. It was fascinating to
watch the animals start down to the river edge, and then race back
up the slope. But when they rake off they really take off.

Watering Hole!
Nov 2019
Sat and watched as the wildebeest and zebras came to the Mara River for water. Thousands upon thousands. The zebras acting as sentries while the wildebeest made a mad dash for the river. Young and old all together back and forth. It was a spectacular site to see and unforgettable!

A mighty river
Nov 2019
As we travelled in mid November the wildebeest and zebra had mostly moved back to central Serengeti but as there had been rain the river showed its force by making the crossing place impassable. Having found a leopard asleep in a tree, the following morning we decided to go back to see if it was still there. We were amazed to find her still there but on the ground eating, then realised why, as two small cubs appeared in the tree. We watched as she ate then the cubs came down and were fed and washed. What an amazing experiance to see right in front of us with not another vehicle or person in sight. Wow. Thank you to our driver/guide, Eli, for making it all possible and so memorable.

Saw a crossing
Nov 2019
Breathtaking experience if you are able to witness a crossing from the front row. Thousands of animals, crocodiles, and hippos. It was crazy.

Great migration crossing
Oct 2019
Greener area of the Serengeti. During the Great migration period here, we observed two different herds of wildebeest with accompanying zebras come to the far edge of the river, thinking they were going to cross but eventually opted against it. Then finally we saw a herd of about 300 wildebeests coming from the far edge in the savannah at a gallop, like a freight train, cross the Mara river, not even blinking or slowing down as they approached the river. We caught up with them on the near side of the river and followed them for a couple of kms. What a show!
