This is a complex made up of several old houses, with interesting displays, views over the harbour, and a good museum shop. Strongly recommended.

Entry is reasonable, 200DA for adult, 100DA for student/concession and free for small children. Beautifully renovated, typical algerois palace, complete with descriptions in English, French and Arabic. A lovely respite out from the business of alger and also cooler than being outside. Restored palace of old rulers, very impressive decoration but very few information posters or boards. Coincided with Berber exhibition which made the visit more worthwhile.

I enjoy walking around this museum. The guide were friendly but they really did not have much to talk about the place. The coolest part of the tour was the doll customs exhibition

old palace, but, basically, it's just a lot of empty rooms. No guides waiting to explain it. A few info boards here and there. But a prime example of tourism in Algeria - little effort made, and a chance missed
