Our helpful concierge directed us to this Museum in the heart of Algiers, capital of Algeria. Musee des Antiquities is best visited midweek. Items from Algeria’s rich heritage can be viewed in this museum. We discovered an exclusive collection of exhibits and explored the cultures,...More

The Museum of Antiquities is quite large and of high quality. More interesting to me was the separate Museum of Islamic Art. Of varied period and quality, and none too well displayed, many of the exhibits were beautiful.

Interesting museum and like all museums in Algiers very cheap and you will be the only person there. Adjacent park is nice but to be avoided after lunch as it gets full of local lovers, alcoholics and beggars.
