Sandy Beach Park is an amazing beach on the southeast shore of O`ahu that has a much different feel to it than Waikiki. While beautiful, Waikiki is predominantly tourists whereas Sandy has more of a laid-back feel with local folks primarily using the beach. Take...More

Very hard waves, and could be dangerous for young children, but you'll have fun if you're experienced.

This beach is one of the places where you can stop on the way around the island to Honolulu. The water is rough. The waves are high, and there are rip tides. My nephew told me it's dangerous. You'll find food trucks and picnic tables..

As we approached the beach with our children, we were greeted by a friendly and helpful lifeguard who strongly advised us to keep the kids out of the rough water due to strong rip tides. We let them get wet up to the ankles, and...More
