I was dismayed by the lack of fire extinguishers on the route. Bearing in mind you walk through actual jungle to reach a bamboo restaurant next to the Coca Cola sign, meaning that the whole route is basically a tinder box with all of the dead wood around.

The area at the top is a wooden bar which sells coconuts and has wooden tables. There were not enough signs to tell people not to smoke, which increased the risk of fire.

As a man who has trained over 5,000 members of staff about fire safety I was stunned by the cavalier attitude to fire safety on this walk.

The route is dog friendly and there were some beautiful dogs being walked on the route including a friendly Alsatian, which is why it got two stars despite the lack of fire saftey.

It's a great view but a bit of a steep hike. It will take a solid hour up if you are somewhat out of shape and needing to take rest stops. Slightly less time coming down.

It did feel safe visiting mid-day during the week. Several solo and couple joggers were present. Robberies were starting to happen here a while ago but the police are doing more patrols on motorbikes now (the same two officers passed twice in 2 hours).

The trail itself doesn't offer many views on the way up (maybe 2 or 3 spots where you can see the city below) but the view at the top is worth it. As is the stand serving coconuts at the top.

It's not easy to see the Coca Cola sign itself as much of the area is overgrown and access to the signs is restricted with fencing.

Drove by and looked but in this country wandering through the woods is asking for a real problem. Be very careful and enjoy the country and it's many sites but Be Smart and Careful.

The steep walk to the lookout and coconut sellers stand at top takes around 30-40 minutes. Very good for cardio workout. Leave car outside gated entrance as only residents are allowed to drive there car inside gate.
I advise to do the walk in morning time - definitely in the light of day. As un -safe after dark!

Good hike, i was on a business trip, but took the time to go up to this city iconic sign, 30 min walk to it, refreshment stand on its top. Be advised, no cars allowed. Only the residents can.

I walked this path years ago and it hasnt changed much. Still a good excerise for me anyway. I highly recommend this walk. The parking is limited now, at peak times would be difficult to park. There is a new place to park below the entrance.

Its a long hike to the top. A lot of work and hot. Half way you can buy Gatorade and water and other things. Then at the top you can buy coconut juice and water and other things as well. You cannot drive up unless you live there. Very steep. But plenty of places to stop and rest and take pictures.

This hike is worth the view on a clear day!
It’s about 1.5 miles to the top viewpoint which has a great panoramic view (somewhat limited).
There’s fresh coconut 🥥 water available for purchase at the top along with oranges and other items. If you are visiting San Pedro Sula and like some cardio and a good hike, you must do this!
It’s safest in the morning between 5am-8am and that’s the coolest part of the day.
