What a worthwhile project. Keeping animals in captivity always worries me, but this is not a tourist attraction as such but a genuine conservation project. The birds were stunning. The people friendly. Go, and support a worthwhile cause.

I really enjoyed an early start on a Saturday morning and had the park almost to myself. Its a nice walk along paved trails in a river valley. Be sure to take a tuktuk Mototaxi because it's a much farther walk from downtown Copán Ruinas...More

Visited Macaw mountion aiming for a couple of hours. Stayed there a whole day. Had lunch with Tucans and Macaws at the cafetiria, had a chat wth Llyod the co- owner and heard about their exciting conservation plans, and got up close with the birds....More

Where else can you have lunch or a drink with a Tucan and a Macaw eating their own food just next to you? It is a real pleasure to visit, to see how good the birds are taken care of, to go into the cages!...More
