Built by a nutty president of Guatemala, who, like me is a fan of everything French, it is worth pondering-you may catch a glimpse as your plane descends. It boasts no restaurants, but is just a stone's throw from Guatemala's military headquarters housed in a...More

We asked a few Guatemala City residents about the history of the "Torre" and no one seemed to know. My significant other (also a native who didn't remember the history) said it's sometimes referred to as "scrap metal". However, I thought it was cool! It's...More

This was near the national Cathedral. We drove under it instead of viewing it from a far. I did this during the day. There isn't any thing to do here, just a structure to admire.

There are areas in Guatemala that you have to be careful and around la Torre del Reformador is one of those places. Lot of people and at times is a bit scary.

A nice metal scaffolding of the remake of the tower in paris. I believe it was a gift from france. Worth a drive by photo from the airport.

This was a really amazing find. I was driving around the city when I saw this magnificent structure. I highly recommend a visit as it is very impressive and it has a beautiful and rich history.

The 72-metre Torre del Reformador called the Tower of the Reformer in honor of the reformist President of Guatemala Justo Rufino Barrios. It was built in 1935, the 100th anniversary of his birth. The similarity with the Eiffel tower is not accidental - the architect...More

Not too many tourist attractions to see in Guatemala City. That I found, so drive by and take a look.

Bit of an oddity, this steel tower straddles the main street into the city from the airport, but doesn't seem to do very much. It's sort of a Meccano memorial. Worth peering at as you drive by and under it, but probably not worth seeing...More
