The Casino is next to the Hotel San Ignacio, ad great place however the casino is a rip off. Machines are VERY tight and don't pay much, but if you do win you are playing with US dollars and when you go to collect they rip you off and pay you in Belize dollars. So if you put in $100 US and decided not to play and cash in they give you 100 in Belize dollars which is only $50 US. SHAME ON THEM…

I visited the San Ignacio location for the very first time last night ( 6:25pm) along with my daughter that was visiting me here from Atlanta. When I entered the casino I was impressed with the beautiful layout, despite there only being 3 card tables and the rest where machines, I found the little casino charming. The facility was quite warm, and my being 48 years of age I am experiencing menopause as well as I’ve suffered from heat exhaustion in the past and I am susceptible to them now as a result of have had one and required hospitalization for two weeks from my passing out. My daughter and I located a waitress ( there was only one) and I asked her if the she would please bring me an orange juice to cool down. I retrieved a piece of scrap paper off of a podium just beside the machine I was using and began to fan myself to cool down. A man (who later identifies himself as the manager) comes up to me very aggressive and snatched the scrap paper out of my hand and asked me where did I get the paper from and that it doesn’t belong to me. I explained to him that I was very hot and needed to cool down. He said he didn’t care and that there was 3 Air conditioning units working and I shouldn’t be hot. I was in utter shock. He continued to yell at me and chastised me for using this SCRAP paper to cool myself down. In the mist of my requesting that my money be exchanged back to me so that I myself and daughter may leave, another manager approached and tried to gain understanding of what was transpiring due to voices being raised and he allowed the irate and aggressive manager to continue with his inappropriate and unprofessional behavior. As I stood there dripping in sweat. I was not offered any water from either individuals until I suggested to the second manager what should have transpired instead of the course of action the manager used. I suggested that instead of him snatching the paper out of my hands and chatting me even stating he didn’t care about the fact I was very hot, he should have offered me some water, and escorted me to a cooler area of the casino, and if he felt the scrap paper that was just lying on a podium in close proximity to public was privy to only the casino staff, he should have offered me an appropriate choice object ( maybe a different piece of scrap paper) to fan myself with after asking me politely to give him that one back. I later find out from the second manager in the mist of the conversation that the AC had not been functioning properly and there where technicians on cite fixing them and they had been dealing with the issue since earlier that day. WOW! It takes quite a bit of time to cool a large room! I asked for a number for their corporate office, I was refused that, so I thought I warn any other American not to go this establishment not only because of the above mentioned incident but also for the fact my dollar nor yours matter to this establishment and our presence must be repulsive to them as I have realized their is a culture devide in this country and because I look like a group of people that are regarded as less than other groups here I was stereotyped and treated with prejudice and sexism. I will be following up on this matter as Customer Service and Cultural Sensitivity training is what I do and had spoken to a group about Customer Service and Why it is important earlier that day. How Ironic!…

Well, I've been here many times over the years, and it's hard to win much and there is not really good size jackpots, but it is a ripoff when you do win as you play with american dollars and I won $610 AMERICAN dollars and even the machine says USD on it, but when I went to cash in I had to raise a big stink to get $300 of it in USD and they gave me the rest in Belizian. Very unfair and it's the only decent win I've had there. Shame on them.…
