This was the most amazing and memorable tour ever. We were very fortunate to have Eric as our guide on a private tour with 3 of us. You start off right away wading chest-deep across a river, then crossing two more shallow rivers on a half-hour walk through the jungle to the entrance of the cave. From there it is a wild adventure, swimming, wading, squeezing through narrow openings between rocks, and climbing to the upper chamber where you are only separated from ancient artifacts by a piece of tape of the cave floor. Eric was an excellent guide, explaining where to place our hands and feet and how to maneuver each obstacle. He explained the history clearly and brought to life the desperation of the Maya as the drought persisted decade after decade. I don't consider myself particularly brave, but with his calm reassurance I somehow found myself sliding through a narrow gushing gap in the rocks that I think was called the devil's spine. Lunch afterward was delicious and there are facilities to change into dry clothes. This was the highlight of our Belize trip for sure.

Fantastic tour with Reggie to Tikal! MayaWalk made sure the border crossing was smooth and Reggie was extremely knowledgeable. We loved it! Would recommend MayaWalk for any area tours. All of the food was incredible and we learned a lot about the region, people, history and wildlife.

Hector led the group of 8 on an incredible journey into this cave. His knowledge is outstanding. He was patient, kind, funny, and took the time to make sure I felt safe. Lunch afterwards was a *home cooked* feast with rum punch. Jeremy was an excellent driver.

We had an absolute blast doing this tour (and two others!) with Maya Walk during our time in Belize. Our tour guide was Giselle and we had so much fun relaxing down the river with her. She was super knowledgeable about the wildlife and helped us spot three toucans as we floated along! We had a great lunch at a restaurant, and we would highly highly highly recommend Maya Walk for all of your San Ignacio tours.
