Whilst Bodie is ‘off the beaten track’, it’s a worthwhile trip to see and image what life was like in a remote mining town. The staff at the visitor centre were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The amenities are very good and there’s plenty of parking....More

Seeing what's left of Bodie is fun and educational. I've been to Deadwood, Tombstone, Virginia City, Bisbee and Grass Valley's Empire Mine. Bodie beats all for keeping it real. Empire Mine is a close second to Bodie. The difference is that Bodie is so out...More

I don't think so. The road is non-concrete for a few miles. No matter what your car is, you will have to drive slow. We drove at 15 mph.
