I was surprised to see them here in the middle of Riga‘s old town. Why the Bremer Stadtmusikanten from the old fairy tail of the Grim brothers who scared away the robbers with their singing? Because Riga is the sister town of Bremen and got...More

Average. Don’t have high expectations. The area around the square is s bit of a tourist trap. Take a photo, make a wish and move on.

Good luck if you touch the faces of the animals - more if you can touch the highest. Take a quick photo and move on.

This well visited tourist attraction was right behind our hotel and always had people rubbing the noses of the 'musicians'. Just behind St Peters Church

The 4 musicians or animals poke their heads through a wall and if you rub their noses then apparently your quiet wish may come true. Right beside St Peter's church

Based on Brothers Grimm fairytale this a statue of donkey, dog, car and rooster peer through a “wall” which the town of Bremen donated shortly after independence. Stroke the noses for good luck. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

On a “walkabout” of old town Riga, we came by this whimsical statue. It brought back memories of the lovely old folk tale that it represents.
