Like many museums, this one also has free admission. There's a little history of beach culture (how the costumes and customs and health spas have changed over the years), and an interesting tribute to the poet Rainis.

This is small but interesting museum about five minutes from the train station and just off the main drag. It also happens to be free. It consists of one room showing a brief history of the Jurmala beach resort with colourful images and displays. There...More

Modern-looking museum, free entrance when we went, interesting exhibition on Jurmala's history, and contemporary Latvian art upstairs. A bit small exhibition, though. The staff was friendly, they opened us the museum shop. They speak very little English.

Although it was free entrance, I expected to see much more information. Also, there was a school party on the first floor so very noisy and echoy

Do not think of this as a large dusty museum but rather somewhere to while away a pleasant hour in a friendly environment where exhibits are few but very interesting and really capture the essence of Jurmala and its evolution as a seaside resort through...More

We had't planned to visit the museum but the frosty weather encouraged us to warm up a bit and look what the exhibition can offer. We were expecting a couple of small, dusty, old-fashioned rooms with old photos and what we've found was surprisingly different!...More

Located very close to the main pedestrian street in Jurmala/Dzintari, Jurmala City Museum hosts an exhibition on the development of Jurmala Resort in the 20th century. Definitely worth a stop should you come to Jurmala. Free and not often visited, it is actually really well...More

This is a fun and interesting museum showing past times in Jurmala, and there are some opportunities for interesting photos too.
