A boat at sea, a storm, a defective material and human errors, the perfect cocktail for a tragedy. The broke line is there to remind us of the 852 souls who left Tallinn, but never made it to Stockholm on a day of September 1994.

History behind it is already described in many comments, but feeling when you go there can't be described when you know what it presents. Visit itself is very short, but really if you have time to go, you should go.

Though the design of the monument is simple, the message is clear. The tragic disaster is one of the worst on sea in recent years, and luckily it's led to a number of life saving changes when saving people at sea today. This is a...More

If you are old enough you may remember the tragic shipping accident that this memorial commemorates. Not far from Fat Margaret Tower, and of course the port, so worth looking out for.

A simple, yet meaningful monument of the still recent tragedy. You can learn more about the disaster in the Seaplane Harbour.
