The Viru Gates separate Tallinn Old Town from the new town. Outside the gates is a long line of flower shops, quite a scene to behold. It is very romantic to visit Viru Gates at night with all the Old Town lights are on.
I really like this area of the city.
Gates are very charming. Flower market next to it, open I think 24h, is additional benefit of the place. I like that one side of gates is modern town, the other one is old town. Very suggestive.
Not challenging the fact that the Gates are beautiful, even though only a portion of them still stand tall today.

Such a striking bit of history to look at - so who in their right mind would allow the siting of a McDonalds right next to it. Totally crass and ruins the atmosphere of such a wonderful entrance to the city.
