Being a native born American, I had only a vague knowledge of Estonia and it's checkered past. Visiting the museum made me appreciate the freedoms I have always taken for granted. The museum's focus is on the occupation first by the Russians, then by the...More

Very interesting to see how Tallinn fared during the years of the Soviet Union, and heartening to see very clearly that it retained its own independence and character despite the years of oppression.

If history interests you, take this tour. It is fun to see the hotel floor that "did not exist" and learn about the ways that the Soviets spied on the visitors to this Estonian hotel.

We found this small museum interesting and very useful to understand the recent history of the Estonian people. It did not have any real "wow" factor in our view but we are glad we went. The stories of individuals gave a real human perspective. The...More

a small museum but very interesting with lots of war time exhibits and screen audio. It is also possible to get a warm drink. Very close to the old town, well worth a visit
