This jumble of 14th- and 15th-century architecture with its medieval walls, needling spires and twisting, cobblestone streets is also the site of many of the city's important historic attractions and museums including the House of the Brotherhood of the Blackheads, St. Catherine's Guild and the 15th-century Guildhall that now houses the History Museum.

A stop on a recent Baltic cruise, we arrived in Tallinn with no preconceived notions. We had brief spells of drizzle that only seemed to enhance the atmosphere of the place: cozy, charming and endlessly picturesque. An interesting counterpart to Helsinki – despite their different...More

Picturesque and cosy. Beautiful houses and cobbled streets. Turn around a corner or walk through an archway and you can find yourself in the medieval times. Don't miss the Alexander Nevskij Cathedral, fantastic.

Come here, it’s lovely walking round the historical old town of Tallinn, offering stunning views at the top of the hill and plenty of market stall selling traditional bits and bobs. If you’re in Tallinn, come to the old town.

Beautiful buildings everywhere, it is quite touristy but still lovely! The History Museum is worth a visit. Nice to just stroll the streets too.

Do your photo taking before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. due to hoards of people from the cruise ships. Vendors and restaurant touts abound. That said, there is a lot to see and do and it has been nicely preserved/rebuilt.
