This jumble of 14th- and 15th-century architecture with its medieval walls, needling spires and twisting, cobblestone streets is also the site of many of the city's important historic attractions and museums including the House of the Brotherhood of the Blackheads, St. Catherine's Guild and the 15th-century Guildhall that now houses the History Museum.

Tallinn has a beautiful and lively Old Town area. It helps to have embassies and government offices which maintain a living presence. We were fortunate to be here during a period of exceptionally nice weather for April. It is also small enough to grasp. One...More

Take risks and wonder away from tourist attractions to find small shops, cafes and loads more. The area is clean and beautiful all year around.

On a day visit from Helsinki - well worth it - caught late ferry back and later in Tallinn was better because there were fewer people - centre can get too crowded. Plenty to climb and an easy walk from the ferry terminal

There is nothing but old, medieval town; narrow streets, various colorful buildings, walls around the city. Many restaurants, cafe bars and souvenirs shops attract tourists. There is the oldest medicine shop ("Apotheke"), established in 1422!!!! And it works all the time!!!

Definitely one of the highlights in the Baltic region. It's a great place to wander for hours and is filled with churches, restaurants, and grand houses.

Beautiful medieval town. Large parts of its wall and watchtowers are still intact. Easy to combine with a daytrip to Heksinki by ferry.

One of the most beautiful places in Europe. I did not get to discover the new city as I was so captivated by the old. Put Tallinn on your list!

The old town is the main touristic part of the city. You can find a lot of good cafés, restaurants etc. here. To see less touristic and more authentic parts go the creative parts of the city which are old fabrication buildings.

Hi I am not sure what the Christmas market would be like, and probably too late for you now. Tallinn prices are quite cheap but good value. Salzburg and Nuremberg have the best Christmas markets. My Wife visited Salzburg... More
